Hundreds of Iranian-American scholars, professionals, human rights advocates, youth, and community leaders from across the United States joined prominent former U.S. and European officials in Washington to map what organizers called a concrete roadmap for democratic transition in Iran. The gathering warned the clerical regime has entered its “final phase” and insisted “a democratic alternative capable of replacing it” already exists in the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

The Free Iran Convention 2025, held last Saturday at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C., under the theme “The Path to a Democratic, Prosperous Republic in Iran,” convened under the auspices of the NCRI’s U.S. Representative Office and drew more than 1,000 attendees for an all-day program of panels and speeches. The gathering culminated in keynote addresses by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former U.K. House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, former U.S. Ambassador Carla Sands, and former Congressman Patrick Kennedy.

Iranians in Geneva Denounce Record Number of Prisoner Executions

Around one hundred people gathered on Thursday in one of the conference rooms of the Maison Internationale des Associations, in the center of Geneva. Among the crowd were many members of the Iranian exile community. There were ordinary citizens, families of political opponents imprisoned by the mullahs, and survivors of the wave of repression following the 2022 “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, during which a part of Iran’s youth rose up against religious rule.

On stage, facing cameras and microphones, were former UN rapporteurs specializing in Iran, as well as the former mayor of Geneva, Rémy Pagani.

How The IRGC’s ‘Water Mafia’ Is Looting Iran Dry

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the anger of the Iranian people boiled over in Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province. Protesting against the regime’s predatory dam construction projects, residents gathered outside the governor’s office chanting a slogan that signals a new level of confrontation: “Either logic or the Berno [gun]!” and “We fight, we die, we take back Dena.” These are not merely environmental grievances; they are a direct challenge to the looting of Iran’s natural resources by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the “Water Mafia” affiliated with the office of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. While the regime attempts to blame climate change, the people of Yasuj have identified the true culprit, chanting, “Our incompetent official is a disgrace.”

Yalda Emamdoust: Four Months of Silence over Vanished Athlete

More than four months have passed since the arrest and enforced disappearance of Yalda Emamdoust, a long-distance running champion and former political prisoner in Isfahan. Yet no official institution has provided any information regarding her location, physical condition, or legal status. Yalda Emamdoust was arrested in August 2025 by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. The arrest was carried out without a judicial warrant, summons, or any legal explanation, and since then, no official statement concerning her situation has been released. Over the past four months, her family has repeatedly approached prisons, security detention centers, and various judicial bodies. Not only have they received no clear answers, but they have also been denied even the most basic rights, including access to her case file, communication with legal counsel, and information about her health.

Deteriorating Health of Manouchehr Fallah and Peyman Farhahvar

Recent reports from Lakan Prison in Rasht indicate that the health condition of two political prisoners sentenced to death, Manouchehr Fallah and Peyman Farhahvar, has severely deteriorated, placing both at immediate risk of death. Held in the closed and dark “Misagh” ward, they suffer from the growth of numerous unidentified masses, severe pain, internal inflammation, and significant weight loss, while prison authorities and security agencies prevent their transfer to specialized medical facilities. This situation reflects a deep-rooted and systematic pattern of medical deprivation targeting political prisoners across Iran—an approach that deliberately endangers their health and lives. According to reliable information, both prisoners have developed more than twenty unidentified masses in their bodies, some as large as a walnut. Due to being unable to eat prison food, Peyman Farhahvar has lost more than 15 kilograms and suffers from acute physical weakness.

Forests With 40-Million-Year-Old Trees Are Burning in Northern Iran

A raging wildfire engulfs a forest in northern Iran

The Hyrcanian Forests, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2019, stretch along the southern shores of the Caspian Sea from east to west. Researchers estimate that some of the tree species in this ancient ecosystem are more than 40 million years old. Known for their exceptional biodiversity, these forests represent one of the most important natural habitats in Eurasia and a rare remnant of prehistoric woodland. According to Iranian media reports delays of nearly 20 days in deploying aerial fire-fighting equipment have turned the ongoing wildfire in the Hyrcanian forests into a national crisis and raised serious public questions regarding government performance and emergency response.

Tehran, Mashhad, And Kerman in Emergency Status as Iran’s Water Crisis Deepens

Water shortages in Iran are becoming the source of frustration and protests against the regime

The water crisis in Iran has reached a stage where several provinces, including Tehran, Mashhad, and Kerman, are facing emergency conditions and, in some cases, “de facto rationing.” In the capital, the deputy head of Tehran’s Regional Water Company says the province’s dams have reached their “strategic volume.” Rama Habibi, deputy head of Tehran’s Regional Water Company, announced on Saturday, November 22, that the reservoirs of the capital’s dams have reached a level where further extraction could endanger the safety of the dams and the supply network. He said: “I cannot say that Tehran’s dams have reached their dead volume, but they are almost at a level below which it is considered strategic volume, and this volume must remain in the dam.”

Iran’s Cash Subsidy System Enters Its Most Turbulent Phase Amid Massive New Cuts

iran-state-run-media-rising-inflation-and-dollar-exchange-rate-a-byproduct-of-the-regime

Iran’s cash subsidy program, launched in 2010 with promises of fairness and economic reform, has reached one of its most turbulent periods. A new round of eliminations at the end of November has removed more than 438,000 people from the subsidy list, pushing the system toward its most restrictive phase in two decades. The policy began officially in late 2010 under the “Targeted Subsidies Law,” which required major increases in energy and basic-goods prices. Revenues from these price adjustments were meant to support households and production. Although the law focused on targeted assistance, the administration of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad implemented the program as an almost universal monthly cash transfer. This decision created a powerful public expectation, even though no permanent legal right to universal subsidies existed. For many years, nearly the entire population received the fixed monthly payment of 45,500 tomans per person, a figure that rapidly lost value as inflation accelerated.
