Iran’s wretched judicial system was in the spotlight again today as it emerged a 67-year-old woman political dissident was facing the hangman’s noose the same week action against a male serial rapist dubbed “Devil of Tehran” was scrapped. Zahra Tabari was sentenced to death after a “trial” lasting 10 minutes. UK Monitoring Iran Links to Western Sahara

The government has said it is monitoring alleged Iranian activity in the Western Sahara but has not seen evidence of direct Iranian support for the Polisario Front, following a debate in the House of Lords on 27 October. Foreign Office Minister Baroness Chapman of Darlington told peers that “the UK has not seen evidence of Iranian support for the Polisario Front. However, we continue to monitor Iranian activity in the region.” She added that the government “has long condemned Iran’s destabilising provision of political, military and financial support to its proxies and partners,” and would continue to work with allies to counter such actions.

The discussion followed reports suggesting links between Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Polisario, a movement seeking independence for Western Sahara from Morocco. Lord Godson, who tabled the question, said there was “open-source evidence of a mutual admiration society between the present Iranian regime, the IRGC and the Polisario,” and asked whether the government would reassess the available intelligence.

The Sun

The son of a woman sentenced to death by Iran’s merciless regime after a sham 10-minute hearing has told how his courageous mum is not afraid to die.

Political prisoner Zahra Tabari, 67, faces being sent to the gallows on trumped-up charges amid an alarming surge in executions in the rogue nation.

At least one inmate is being put to death every four hours, with at least 204 prisoners hanged in September alone in an execution spree unmatched since 1988.

It comes amid fears the weakened Ayatollah is ramping up executions in a warning to dissidents.

The Mullahs’ Iron Fist and Velvet Glove: Iran’s Shameful Double Standards

townhall-logo

In the dark corridors of Iran’s clerical despotism, ordinary women live in fear of the murderous morality police, the ever-lurking baton of the state, and the constant threat of arbitrary arrest. Meanwhile, the ruling elite exist in a parallel world of privilege, luxury, and impunity, a regime publicly preaching piety and modesty while privately indulging in decadence and corruption. The result is a grotesque parody of justice, where the law is used not to protect, but to persecute.

Few cases illustrate this cruelty more starkly than that of Zahra Shahbaz Tabari, a 67-year-old political prisoner sentenced to death this week, following a ten-minute trial in the city of Rasht. Her alleged crime was “cooperating” with the main opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). She is the 18th PMOI supporter to face a death sentence this year alone.

Centrifuges at the Natanz nuclear facility

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has for years warned about Iran’s widespread uranium enrichment at concentrations approaching the level needed to build a nuclear weapon. Grossi told the Swiss newspaper Le Temps on Wednesday, October 22, that Iran’s regime still possesses enriched uranium, including about 400 kilograms enriched to 60%, a concentration slightly below weapons-grade. Grossi added that if the trend continues, Iran would have enough material for roughly 10 nuclear bombs.

Child Selling and Starvation in Iran: A Humanitarian Tragedy Fueled by the Regime’s Economic Collapse

The deepening economic crisis in Iran—rooted in decades of mismanagement, corruption, and repression under the clerical regime—has pushed countless families to the edge of survival. What once seemed unthinkable has now become a grim reality: child selling as a means of staying alive. Across impoverished provinces such as Sistan and Baluchestan and southern Kerman, families trapped in extreme poverty are being forced to sell their children to afford food or shelter. This tragedy is not the result of a single event but of a long decline driven by the regime’s failed economic policies, suffocating sanctions, and systemic neglect.
