Canadian Member of Parliament James Bezan strongly voiced his opposition to the Iranian regime’s crackdown on the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), and its actions against MEK members who are residing in Albania.
On July 29, the Iranian regime’s judiciary issued indictments against 104 members of the Iranian Resistance, who are residing in various European countries, including Ashraf 3 in Albania. These individuals have lived outside Iran for the past four decades, and the regime’s attempt to extradite them is in direct violation of international law, argues MP Bezan.
He stressed that as a staunch advocate for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, Canada firmly opposes these indictments and any extradition efforts. Mr. Bezan called on European leaders to denounce these actions, prosecute those responsible for crimes against humanity within the Iranian regime in international courts, and ensure the full protection of Iranian political refugees in Europe in accordance with international conventions and laws.
