Iran: Two political prisoners, cancer patient and disabled man, denied medical treatment

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s intelligence agents have removed a disabled political prisoner  from a hospital he was being treated at, transferring him back to prison, according to reports.

Hadi Abedi Bakhoda, a political prisoner who also spent some time in prison during the 1980s, was disabled after being shot by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He suffers from debilitating physical complications as a result of his injuries.

Mr. Abedi Bakhoda is being held at a prison in the northern city of Rasht, where resources for his treatment are inadequate. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital, but despite the opinion of doctors that he should remain hospitalized, the regime’s agents forcibly returned him to prison.

Abedi Bakhoda was placed under brutal torture in the 1980s on charges of supporting the main Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). His brother, Hormoz, was executed by the Iranian regime on similar charges.

Another political prisoner, Mohsen Dokmechi, a well-respected Bazaar merchant who suffers from pancreatic cancer, is in critical condition after being refused treatment.

Mr. Dokmechi also spent some time in prison in the 1980s. He was arrested and is under torture in prison on charges of helping families of political prisoners, supporting the PMOI and having a child in Camp Ashraf, Iraq, where 3,400 PMOI members reside.
