Parisa Kamali was sentenced to six years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Ardakan on charges of membership in the PMOI
At midnight on Tuesday, September 8, the henchmen of the mullahs’ regime removed Ms. Parisa Kamali, a 40-year-old political prisoner, from her ward without prior notice and exiled her to Bandar Abbas Prison.
Parisa Kamali was arrested in Isfahan in 2024 and sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Ardakan to six years in prison and two years of internal exile in Sarbaz County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, on charges of ‘membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK),’ ‘acting against national security,’ and ‘destruction of public property.’ She was serving her sentence in Yazd Prison.
In a statement on May 6, 2026, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) announced that prison guards in Yazd, under the pretext of wartime conditions, were denying Parisa Kamali her medication and refusing to transfer her to a hospital. This was in retaliation for a message she had written on the 40th-day ceremony marking the martyrs of the January uprising: ‘We will never let this flag fall, and we believe that this blood-soaked path will lead to victory.’ In another message in August, she wrote: ‘The mullahs’ executioner government tries to instill fear and terror through consecutive executions and massacres to prolong its survival, but it is gravely mistaken. We have overcome fear and are filled with rage.’
The arrest of Ms. Kamali in 2024 had been reported to the United Nations Special Rapporteur and other human rights organizations in that same year. The NCRI Secretariat had previously announced her arrest in a statement on November 1, 2024.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations, its relevant bodies, and international human rights organizations to strongly condemn the religious fascism’s criminal treatment of political prisoners and demands immediate action to secure their release.
