Iran: Brief news on protests, 1-10 Sept 2013

NCRI – People in the city of Bijar gathered outside the municipality building on Saturday, September 7 and protested towards the city municipality for their inattention to keep the city and street clean. There is garbage all over the city.

Nurses of two hospitals in the city of Shahrekord, Kashani and Hajar hospitals did not attend work after their duty was over and gathered in the amphitheater on Sunday, September 8. The nurses objected towards their delayed wages and problems at work. They threatened to go on strike in case their demands are not responded within a week.

Following two months of protests workers of Kian Tire gathered once again outside the Industrial Ministry on Monday, September 9. Many female workers joined the protet demanding non-payment of wages among other issues.

At the same time, a meeting was held in the Industrial Ministry building and the workers sent their representative to attend the meeting. However, preventing their entrance, the workers became furious and started chanting slogans.

The workers chanted, ‘work, salary and protest are our rights’, ‘a true worker will not give in’…

On Tuesday, September 10, people in the city of Arak gathered outside the governor’s office and protested against air pollution and parasite signals.

Prior to this, hundreds of people in this city had gathered in protest for the twelfth time, in its main park on Saturday, September 7.

Representatives of farmers in Khorasgan, Isfahan protested again on Tuesday, September 10 outside the governor’s office and demanded payment to the damages caused by water outage.
The Iranian regime closed down the water in Zayandeh Rood River, causing great damages to the crops of these farmers.

A group of people in Tehran protested outside the main post office building on Monday, September 9 towards regime’s interference in their personal life.

The protesters, whom were mostly women, claimed that this measure is intrusion and violation to their private life.

The Iranian regime’s agents had opened posted packages of people.

People in the city of Shahrekord protested and chanted slogans against the visit of Nouri Hamedani, a cleric from Khamenei’s faction, to this city.

People who were majorly youth and students, chanted ‘death to the Supreme Leader’.

Travelers who were stuck at the city entrance also joined people’s protest.
