Conference in the Presence of Mike Pompeo, former US Secretary of State

2024 was a year full of serious defeats for the regime. We saw widespread boycotts of two sham elections, increased resistance in prisons, more young people joining Resistance Units, and the expansion of their activities.

The regime also confronted a broken economy, 40% inflation, widespread poverty massive financial corruption, especially among officials and IRGC commanders, and growing defections among its loyal forces.

In these circumstances, the regime’s main proxy force, Hezbollah in Lebanon, suffered serious blows, and finally, the pillar of Khamenei’s strategy in the region, the Assad dictatorship, was destroyed in the final months of the year. Now, Khamenei faces the prospect of an uprising.

Iran’s Regime Sets New Record of Executions In 2024

Iran-Executions-01

As Iran’s regime inches toward its collapse, it has increasingly resorted to mass executions. This grim strategy reached its peak in 2024, setting an unprecedented record of executions. The statistics from this year clearly indicate that religious fascism, at its endgame, has resorted to bloody repression in a desperate attempt to delay its inevitable overthrow.

According to official statistics and reports from human rights organizations, 1,000 people were executed in Iran in 2024. This number represents a 16% increase compared to 2023, which saw 864 recorded executions, and is the highest number of executions in the past three decades. It should be noted that these figures only account for recorded executions, and secret or unannounced executions could significantly increase this number.

The Implications of The Collapse of Tehran’s Regional Axis

One month after the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, Iran’s regime is still trying to lift the spirits of its demoralized forces, who are seeing the regime on the decline after losing its main ally in the region.

In this context, Abbas Araghchi, the regime’s Deputy Foreign Minister, lamented the media environment, stating, “Today more than ever, we must care for morale and not allow enemies to create despair and uncertainty through the media environment… Preserving the morale of the people and various groups in the current very critical circumstances is more necessary than ever.”

On January 7, the state-run media outlet Rouydad24 quoted Araghchi’s remarks in an article titled “The Defeat of the Syrian Army is a Wake-Up Call for Us.” This alarm has indeed echoed in many other media outlets.
