NCRI – Following the overwhelming national and international support in defense of members the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) residing in Ashraf City,Iraq and failed plots by the mullahs' regime against them, it has embarked on fresh conspiracies to harm Ashraf residents.
1. As it was published in the statement issued in September 24 by the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the mullahs' Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) has begun a fresh campaign of psychological warfare and disinformation against Ashraf residents falsely declaring the closure of the Camp and expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq. The MOIS agents refer to Mojahedin's families, residing in different parts of the country, forcing them to leave for Iraq with the Ministry's groups. The MOIS and its surrogate, Nejat Association, advertise that the time of the PMOI in Iraq is up and soon Ashraf would be shutdown and want the families to rush to the neighboring country to save the lives of their loved ones.
2. A member of the MOIS know as Hosseinali Taheri with the help of some other agents of the Ministry such as: Arash Sametipour, Hora Shalchi, Marjan Malek and Babak Amin are assisting him in briefing the families of the Mojahedin and sending them from Iran to Ashraf. Agents of the MOIS try to convince the families to get their children out of Ashraf City and then encourage them to return to Iran.
3. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Qods Force and the mullahs' Foreign Ministry are assisting the MOIS in completing its mission. The Iranian regime's embassy in Iraq which is run by the Qods Force and MOIS agents has a significant role in implementing the plan. Despite such widespread attempts by the Iranian regime, the families have refused to comply and are revealing the MOIS tactics.
4. The mullahs' regime is spending millions of dollars to finance its plots against the Ashraf resident abroad. Following are some of the new tactics implemented by the MOIS:
– Dispatching members of the MOIS to other countries under the pretext of asylum seekers;
– Dispatching scores of the MOIS internal braches know as Nejat and Habilian Associations to Europe;
– Using front organizations to cover MOIS activities in European countries;
– Deployment of a number of foreign lobbies;
– Utilizing Iranian regime's embassies and Islamic Students Associations to put in contact the MOIS members with the police government officials in foreign countries and international organization such the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN High Commissar for Refugees (UNHCR).
5. A group of the MOIS agents including Arash Sametipour, Marjan Malek and Babak Amin were dispatched to Switzerland to participate in a demonizing campaign against the Mojahedin. They go to international bodies and falsely introduce themselves as former members of the PMOI who live on their free will in Iran. They claim that if the Ashraf residents are sent to Iran their lives would not be endangered.
6. The above mentioned group is accompanied by the Iranian Foreign Ministry's head of its so-called human rights section, Kazemi. The mullahs' embassy in Bern and its representative office in Geneva are providing them the necessary in Switzerland. The group has been recruited by the MOIS years ago. Its members have been instrumental in interrogating and torturing the political prisoners in the Iranian regime's prisons. In addition to persecution of the families of the Mojahedin. Arash Samitepour has personally interrogated and tortured Hojat Zamani who spent five years in prison before his execution in February 8, 2005. There are witnesses willing to testify before international competent bodies to effect.
7. At same time the frantic reactions by the mullahs' regime continues following the delisting of the PMOI in Britain. Addressing thousands of identical letters by the mullahs' agents in various cities throughout Iran to UK authorities; summoning of the British ambassador to the Foreign Ministry; holding mock demonstrations by the members of paramilitary Bassij Force outside British embassy in Tehran; dispatching various groups from Tehran to London to meet and discuss with the UK authorities about the de-prescription of the PMOI; Making an arson at the entrance of the Iranian embassy in London and blaming it on the Mojahedin are just some of the dirty tactics used by the clerical regime to discredit its main opposition.
8. Last month Mehdi Safari, the mullahs' deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs, traveled to London desperately pleading the British to enlist the PMOI again. To that effect he took with him some of the leading interrogators and tortures of the MOIS, Mohammad Javad Hasheminejad, head of the hobilian Association and a few others, to help him argue his case before the British officials, human rights organizations and members of the British parliament. They also embarked on filing complaints against the Mojahedin in British courts. Massoud Khodabandeh, a notorious member of the MOIS in Britain and the state-run English language Press TV accommodated him in his journey. Following the trip, the MOIS concluded that they did not achieve any of its goals and another trip to Britain is needed.
The mullahs' regime desperate attempts has failed in combating the international campaign for the rights of Ashraf residents, especially the statement by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, European Parliament's resolution, support by Sheik Tantawi, Sunni Muslims Grand Mufti and leader of Al Azhar.
The Iranian Resistance reminds the European countries that allowing the MOIS agents to live and operate in Europe will only serve the mullahs' interests in expanding its terrorist and espionage networks. It calls on the European countries to implement the Council of Ministers' resolution dated April 1997 which bars any presence and activities of the MOIS agents in Europe.
