
NCRI – Following vicious attacks by club welding and oppressive forces of Iraq on the residents of Camp Ashraf, 4 people have died and over 300 wounded and hundreds have been injured.
Ashraf residents have announced a hunger strike and except those wounded or ill, the rest of Mojahedin members present in Ashraf will be on hunger strike until their just demands are met:
1. Immediate removal of all Iraqi forces from Ashraf and freedom of those taken hostage;
2. Taking the responsibility of protection of Ashraf City by the American forces, as it was agreed upon at the time of disarmament and the signing of agreement, until all matters are finalized;
3. Presence of lawyers and international human rights organizations in Ashraf as they have been prevented from going to Ashraf for over 7 months;
4. Presence of the representative of the UN Security Council or the Secretary General in Ashraf to discuss the final decision;
5. For Iraqi Government to acknowledge the European Parliament resolution of April 24, 2009 on the humanitarian situation of Camp Ashraf residents;
6. Trial and punishment of those who ordered and perpetrated today’s attacks and barbaric killings in Ashraf in an international tribunal on the charges of crimes against humanity.
These crimes have been committed on the basis of a bilateral agreement with Iraqi authorities and under direct orders of Khamanei.
