Mrs. Maryam Rajvi, President-Elect of the Iranian Resistance, described the missile attack on the Ashraf city an act of war on behalf of the mullahs? regime and a ?war crime? committed against ?declared protected persons according to Geneva Conventions?.

She stated, ?The theocratic regime ruling Iran has resorted to this crime after the humiliating setback it encountered in preventing the annulment of the terrorist label and the ruling of the British Court of Appeals in order to export internal tensions.

The assault takes place despite the fact that Ashraf residents have had no weapons for the past 5 years and have not engaged in any military operations and their protection has been the responsibility of the coalition forces.

?By missile attacks and violent oppressions, you are trying to restrain voices of discontent of the Iranian people and their resistance for freedom. Today the outcry of the Iranian people that, ?We are fighting, men and women. Fight us and we will fight back? coming from within Iran and from the Iranian youth, students, workers and other stratum of this county and the world has come to realize our people?s right to achieve freedom and democracy.? said Mrs. Rajavi, to the mullahs? regime, referring to its hysteric reaction to the Appeals Court ruling while underlining the majority of Iranians? discontent against the theocratic dictatorship and terrorism,.

Mrs. Rajavi, called upon the International Red Cross, High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Security Council, the Coalition Forces and the government of Iraq to condemn and bring the mullahs regime to justice for the assault on the Ashraf which is a clear violation of international and humanitarian rights and Geneva Conventions. She added that disposition of the Iranian regime from its strongholds in Iraq, including the shutdown of this regime?s embassy in Baghdad and eviction of all intelligent ministry and Quds force agent, are necessary to accomplish peace, democracy and freedom in Iraq.
