Preventing the entry of residents’ basic necessities to Liberty

Camp Liberty- No 55

On Friday September 28, on the order of suppression committee in the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office, the Iraqi forces prevented the entry of many basic goods that were purchased by the residents such as clothing, oil based and wood paints, and stationary. Since the trailers in Liberty are very worn and must be rebuilt and repaired, some materials such as paint are essential for the residents.

On Wednesday September 26 too, a column carrying hygiene and food supplies, after all the checks and verifications were performed including by police dogs, scanners and sonar, was stopped at camp’s entrance. The Iraqi forces prevented their entry for three days in order to verify them several times. Some of the food supplies become rotten due to hot temperature. The Iraqi forces prevented using of lift trucks for unloading these supplies.
