- 15 executions in Isfahan and 10 in Mashhad; the clerical regime’s execution machine grinds on relentlessly in a desperate attempt to forestall public outrage and an imminent uprising
The execution machinery of the religious fascism ruling Iran continues its relentless cycle of killing, driven by the regime’s acute fear of the simmering public anger and its desperate attempt to prevent an uprising.
According to reports gathered through September 24, the religious dictatorship sent at least 78 prisoners to the gallows across 24 prisons during the Iranian month of Shahrivar (August 23 to September 22, 2026). Isfahan’s Dastgerd Prison recorded the highest number of hangings with 15, followed by Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison with 10. The true number of executions is likely higher. Among those executed were nine Baluch compatriots and six women.
In addition to cases previously documented, Mostafa Karimzadeh was hanged in Isfahan on September 22. Between September 16 and 22, Hossein Ghazlavi, Karim Mojadam, Jalil Salamat, and Seyed Sadeq Mousavi were executed in Ahvaz, while Eskandar Heydarzadeh was executed in Tabriz on September 14. Consequently, five prisoners were executed in Ahvaz during the final week of Shahrivar alone.
Continued international inaction toward the primary sponsor of execution, terrorism, and warmongering is a flagrant violation of universal human rights and emboldens the regime to persist in its crimes against humanity. All political and economic relations with the mullahs’ regime must be made strictly contingent upon an immediate end to executions and torture in Iran.
