The execution of 141 prisoners in one month, including 7 women and 2 individuals who were under 18 at the time of the alleged crime.
The execution of a prisoner in Mahabad after 19 years of imprisonment for the killing of a repressive security force officer.
The henchmen of Ali Khamenei, sent at least 141 prisoners, including 7 women, to the gallows in the Persian month of Azar (21 November to 20 December). At least two of the victims were under the age of 18 at the time of the alleged crime. The women who fell victim to the execution machinery of the regime’s religious fascism include: Effat Hamedi in Sari, a prisoner named Mahboubeh in Yazd, Ameneh Alipour in Zanjan, Azar Aliyeh Kavarizadeh and Farideh Jafarzadeh in Ilam, Farkhondeh Allah Moradi in Isfahan, and Fariba Maleki Shahivand in Khorramabad.
In addition to the executions previously announced, the regime’s judiciary executed four prisoners—Jamāl Asgarabadi, Yousef Sattari, Manouchehr Hedayati, and 35-year-old Effat Hamedi—on Tuesday, December 17, in Sari.
On Wednesday, December 18, political prisoner Rahim Barin, a resident of Mahabad, was executed in Mahabad Prison after 19 years of imprisonment. He was accused of killing a repressive security officer during public protests in 2005.
Khamenei, deeply fearful of meeting the same fate as Bashar al-Assad and the collapse of his regime, attempts to suppress uprisings through killings, executions, and the creation of an atmosphere of fear. However, these brutal crimes only further ignite the people’s rage. The religious fascism ruling Iran has no escape from eventual downfall.
