Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities Exceed 316,500

NCRI logoWhile the Coronavirus infections are declining in most countries, due to the regime’s criminal and plundering policies, including the lack of vaccination, vast areas of Iran are exposed to the fifth outbreak of the virus and the number of infected people is increasing.

  • Controlling COVID-19 is very difficult. Iran has 1.5 hospital beds per 1,000 people compared to England or France with 7 beds for every 1,000. (ISNA news agency, June 23, 2021)
  • Chairman of the parliamentary Health Committee: A new wave of COVID-19 in the southern and eastern provinces has increased the number of patients and deaths. (Hamshahri daily, June 23, 2021)
  • Sistan and Baluchestan University of Medical Sciences: On June 22, sixteen people died of Coronavirus, which is unprecedented. Hospital beds are full of Coronavirus patients. (Hamshahri daily, June 23, 2021)
  • Shiraz University of Medical Sciences: Gradual increase in infections and hospitalization indicates a new peak of the virus and exposure to the fifth COVID-19 outbreak. (Mehr news agency, June 23, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, that the COVID-19 fatalities in 547 cities across Iran had surpassed 316,500. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 74,186, Isfahan 21,315, Khuzestan 19,981, Khorasan Razavi 19,240,East Azerbaijan 12,928, Mazandaran 12,460, West Azerbaijan 11,838, Fars 10,602, Alborz 9,018, Golestan 7,540, Sistan and Baluchistan 7,466, Kerman 7,158, Kermanshah 6,138, Yazd 5,262, Hormozgan 4,495, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 2,474.
