In order to prevent social protests and uprisings, in parallel with the execution of political prisoners, the clerical regime has also intensified pressure on the families of PMOI members and political prisoners.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Ministry of Intelligence summoned the family of political prisoner Marzieh Farsi (imprisoned in Evin Prison), subjecting them to hours of interrogation, threats, insults, and psychological pressure. The interrogators prohibited them from having any contact with other families of political prisoners or the PMOI.
Over the past two weeks, the families of political prisoners and PMOI supporters, including the families of Sedigheh Moradi, Azar Karvandi, and the martyred PMOI member Akbar Daneshvarkar, were summoned and interrogated by the Ministry of Intelligence. The agents threatened to confiscate their family assets and inheritance, leaving them homeless.
Through pressure and intimidation, the interrogators demanded that these families participate in the show trial of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and 104 members of the Resistance once the theatrical court resumes and conduct interviews against the PMOI. They were warned that otherwise, their assets and properties would be confiscated and their other children arrested.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the relevant UN rapporteurs, and all human rights organizations to decisively condemn the clerical regime’s inhumane actions against the families of PMOI members and political prisoners.
