Khamenei threatens ‘no retreat’ as people of Zahedan chant ‘Death to Khamenei’; regime admits lacking of forces in Isfahan.

Reports from across Iran indicate that last night, repressive forces murdered many protesters in several cities, particularly in Tehran and its surrounding areas. These acts are unequivocally a crime against humanity.

On January 8, in Fardis, Karaj (Siah-Noush neighborhood), repressive forces committed a horrific crime by firing directly at protesters. In one instance, at least 10 youths were killed or wounded, their bodies left on the ground. The regime is attempting to conceal the extent of this massacre by implementing a complete communications blackout. The names of the martyrs will be released once their identities have been confirmed and the details verified.

Fearing the spread of the nationwide uprising and coinciding with an internet shutdown, the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, delivered a fearful statement this morning, Friday, January 9. He labeled the protesters ‘vandals’ and threatened that the regime ‘will not back down.’ Subsequently, the secretariat of the regime’s Supreme National Security Council issued a statement declaring that security and judicial forces ‘will show no leniency’ toward the protesters.

Ali Salehi, the criminal governor of Tehran, also stated: ‘Anyone who comes and participates in these gatherings is truly moving in the enemy’s court and in line with the enemy’s goals. We will deal with these individuals decisively. Our military, State Security Force (SSF), and security forces are on the scene. These arrested individuals, we will deal with them decisively and as quickly as possible, God willing.’ (Regime’s IRIB Telegram channel, January 9, 2026)

On Friday, January 9, in Zahedan, brave Baluch men and women took to the streets with chants of ‘Death to Khamenei’ and ‘From Zahedan to Tehran, my life for Iran.’ Repressive forces confronted them by firing tear gas and pellet rounds, injuring several people.

Leaked State Security Force (SSF) radio communications, exposed by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), reveal the regime’s desperation. According to these communications, during an attack by protesters and rebellious youths on the regime’s state broadcasting center in Isfahan, commanders of the repressive forces were heard screaming, ‘We have no forces,’ and requesting help. The command center insisted that they must confront the people. Previously, on Wednesday, January 7, in Borujerd, a panicked SSF commander ordered his forces to move equipment to the rooftops to escape the people’s wrath and to shoot directly at them, saying, ‘Don’t hesitate, shoot.’

According to reliable reports, the number of detainees in recent days has reached thousands. The detention centers of the IRGC, the SSF, the Ministry of Intelligence, and various safe houses are overcrowded, indicating the panic within the repressive apparatus. As of two days ago, cases had been filed for 650 of those arrested in Tehran, and most detainees are being held in legal limbo under dire conditions.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations and its member states, the Human Rights Council, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to strongly condemn this brutal massacre and take immediate measures to lift the ‘cyber siege’ and ensure the Iranian people’s free access to the internet.
