Iran: Execution of Heroic PMOI Members, Commander Hamed Validi and Mohammad (Nima) Massoum-Shahi
- Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: These brutal executions will not save the regime from the eruption of the people’s anger and the fiery resolve of rebellious youths.
• Call on the UN and EU to resolutely condemn the successive executions and take urgent action to stop the wave of executions.
Early this morning, Monday, April 20, heroic members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), Commander Hamed Validi and Mohammad (Nima) Massoum-Shahi, were hanged by the executioners of the mullahs’ regime in Karaj Central Prison, joining other martyred PMOI members: Mohammad Taghavi, Akbar Daneshvarkar, Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani-Amerian, and Abolhassan Montazar.
Commander Hamed, a 45-year-old civil engineer from Isfahan, and Nima, a 38-year-old technical worker from Tehran, were arrested on May 13, 2025, in Tehran along with their relatives and subjected to interrogation and torture.
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 19, these two prisoners were hastily transferred from Karaj Central Prison to an unknown location, and the Iranian Resistance immediately called on relevant UN bodies and human rights organizations to take urgent action to save them.
The regime’s judiciary listed the charges against these two martyred PMOI members as “setting fire to a number of military and public places,” “Moharebeh (waging war against God),” “assembly and collusion against national security,” “membership in a criminal terrorist group with the aim of disrupting national security,” and “propaganda activities against the system.” It stated that they “were arrested after manufacturing explosive projectiles and transporting them to launch sites, prior to any action, along with 10 explosive projectiles ready to be fired; subsequently, from the residences of the accused in Karaj and Isfahan and their team house in Tehran, ammunition, ready-to-fire explosive projectiles, and items for making mortars were discovered and confiscated.”
The regime’s judiciary, terrified of the growing resonance of the PMOI’s name and the youths’ embrace of the Resistance Units, added “cooperation with the Zionist regime” to their charges in a well-known ploy and repeated lie. Previously, on September 27, 2025, the regime’s Chief Justice in Alborz province had foolishly accused these two PMOI members and two other political prisoners of espionage in connection with the 12-day war, whereas they had been arrested a month prior to that war, and the PMOI had already sent their names and particulars to the UN and human rights organizations. The news of their arrest had also been announced on September 7, 2025, on Simay-e Azadi television. These repeated lies indicate the regime’s desperation in confronting the PMOI and rebellious youths.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, paying tribute to Hamed and Nima, who sacrificed their lives for their pledge to the freedom and liberation of their homeland and people, said that just as the Shah could not save himself from overthrow by shedding the blood of the best children of this nation, the criminal mullahs have no escape from the eruption of the people’s anger and the fiery resolve of rebellious youths. She called on the United Nations and relevant bodies, as well as the European Union, its member states, and all human rights organizations, to resolutely condemn the successive executions and take urgent action to stop the wave of executions and secure the release of political prisoners.
