Iran political prisoner on hunger strike after brutal attack

IrajMohammadi

NCRI – An Iranian political prisoner has gone on hunger strike in south-east Iran after he was brutally attacked over the weekend by prison guards.

Agents of the Iranian regime’s notorious Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) on Saturday brutally attacked political prisoners Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad-Amin Agoushi, a retired teacher, in Zahedan’s central prison.

Their bodies were covered with bruises after the attack; however, prison wardens prevented them from receiving medical treatment.

Having protested his brutal treatment, Mr. Mohammadi was subsequently again beaten and transferred to solitary confinement.

He is now on a hunger strike.

The main intelligence agent responsible for the attack goes by the surname Jalili. The MOIS carried out the attack on the two political prisoners in coordination with the director of Zahedan’s central prison.
