Iran: Government-Affiliated Expert Admits to the Regime’s Costly Nuclear Program

While news indicates that nuclear negotiations in Vienna between the Iranian regime and world powers have failed again, a government-affiliated expert acknowledged on Saturday that Tehran has wasted $2 trillion of national wealth on its nuclear program.

“It is estimated that the cost of the nuclear program should be estimated at between 1.5 to 2 trillion dollars. It seems that the initial assessment by the Budget and Planning Organization’s expert was not far from reality,” the state-run Arman daily wrote on Saturday, quoting Hanizadeh. “In fact, the root of the misunderstandings of foreign powers regarding the nuclear program goes back to the fact that there is no economic justification [for the regime to pursue a nuclear program.]”

Iran’s Former Official Slams Raisi Amid Regime’s Factional Feuds

Mostafa Tajzadeh, an Iranian former official, slammed Ebrhiam Raisi, the regime’s new president, amid the mullahs’ rising factional feuds. “In the first 100 days of Raisi, the price of the dollar exchange rate has increased by 12%, gold coin by %11, housing by %5, rents by 5%, and pride vehicle by %17,” he wrote on Twitter.

“If Raisi’s young and revolutionary government! fail at ending sanctions and our self-sanctioning, the unmixed government of minority would be crippled sooner than what they think.

Iran’s State Media Acknowledges Low Moral Among Regime Forces

In an article on  Saturday, the state-run Etemad daily acknowledged the regime’s insiders or supporters have either very low moral or lost any faith in the regime. “Why so many of the past revolutionary forces have joined the current rulers’ opponents, and lash the system harder?” Etemad wrote.

“Many are protesting that the Islamic Republic’s essence has changed and is no longer defendable,” Etemad added, referring to the regime being on the edge of downfall.

Protests Continue Across Iran

On Saturday, seasonal workers of Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company continued their strike for the 13th consecutive day in front of the governorate of Shush, Khuzestan province. They demand their unpaid wages, a permanent contract, and job security.

On Saturday, a group of disabled persons held a gathering outside the Razavi Khorasan governor’s office protesting their poor living conditions and a recent decrease in the budget allocated to their needs.

On Saturday, several employees of the Izeh Water and Sewage Department protested not receiving answers to their long raised demands about poor living conditions and low salaries.

On Saturday, the retired teachers and educators rallied outside the regime’s Budget and Planning Organization protesting their poor living conditions while demanding higher wages and delayed pensions.

Iran: Khamenei’s Representative Express Fear of Popular Protests in Isfahan

Ahmad Alam-ol Hoda, the Friday prayer leader and the representative of the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in Mashhad expressed fear of recent protests in Isfahan.

“The problem of farmers was resolved” he blatantly claimed, adding “Those few hundreds, who are the enemy’s elements, and some ignorant youth provoked by the enemy [held protests]. They intended to harm the system.”

“Those who gathered and protested were the enemies of people of Isfahan, and some youth followed them,” he said.

Hamid Noury’s lies in court symbolize Iran’s regime

Hamid Noury continued to testify and answer questions on Wednesday and Thursday in a court in Stockholm, Sweden, where he is being tried for taking part in crimes against humanity during the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran.

Noury, who was arrested on a trip to Sweden in 2019, was a prison guard in Evin and Gohardasht prisons in Tehran and Karaj in the 1980s. During this time, he participated in the torture and execution of political prisoners, especially the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
