U.S. Calls on Syrian Authorities to Block Iranian Regime’s Influence Amid Political Transition
On April 25, 2025, in a Security Council briefing on Syria, U.S. Ambassador Dorothy Shea issued a strong warning against the continued presence and activities of the Iranian regime and its proxies on Syrian soil, stressing that the interim Syrian authorities must “prevent Iran and its proxies from exploiting Syrian territory.”
The statement, delivered during a high-level session on Syria’s political and humanitarian future, comes as Washington evaluates the actions of the newly announced interim cabinet in Damascus. Shea reaffirmed that the U.S. expects any future Syrian leadership to be transparent, representative, and independent of foreign influence, particularly that of the Iranian regime.
While noting limited progress in some areas, including the extension of a mandate to investigate coastal atrocities, the U.S. urged Syrian authorities to go further, including by “excluding foreign terrorist fighters from any official roles” and ensuring the destruction of all chemical weapons. Shea emphasized that “the core leadership must move beyond its past” and that impunity would no longer be tolerated.

Iran on Killing-Spree Ahead of Nuclear Talks With US
At least 22 people were hanged this week alone, bringing the total number of executions since the so-called moderate president Masoud Pezeshkian took office in July to nearly 1,100 – one every 5.5 hours. The figure, reported by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), is a 20% increase on last year (853).
Iran observers say the rise is due to Ayatollah Khamenei’s fears of a people’s uprising coupled with the possibility of Donald Trump making an end to the state slaughter a condition of nuclear negotiations between the two countries which are due to continue in Oman on Saturday. Opponents of the regime and security experts warn the US negotiators must recognise this surge in killings and factor it into any nuclear negotiations with Tehran.

20th Alleged Iran Official Caught in Canada as Campaigns Explain How They Would Deal with Tehran
Twenty alleged senior members of the Iranian regime have now been found living in Canada, immigration officials confirmed amid an election debate on how best to deal with the Islamic Republic.
The most recent is an Iranian citizen scheduled to go before the Immigration and Refugee Board in June after the Canada Border Services Agency accused him of having served as a top official in Tehran.
The refugee board released his name to Global News on Wednesday but later requested that it not be published because his deportation hearing was being held behind closed doors.

The Iranian Regime’s Futile Efforts to Contain Rebellious Students and Youth
For years, Iran’s regime has used totalitarian methods to mold the minds of the younger generation into its regressive image and recruit them into its repressive and terrorist apparatus. But now, it faces a generation that not only rejects these clichés but openly rebels against them. Iranian students have shown that despite decades of the regime’s efforts to distort history, censor Iran’s vibrant culture, and impose backward values, the spirit of freedom and independent thinking remains alive in them. This generation has now turned into an explosive force against the regime.
Iranian students, led by courageous girls, played a prominent role in the 2022 uprising. Together with university students and youth in every neighborhood, they suspended classes, held protest gatherings, and chanted slogans like “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate,” turning the streets into arenas of resistance. These protests marked the first time since the 1979 anti-monarchy revolution that students took the frontline of a political movement, evoking their historic role in the uprising of that year.
The Legacy of Kazem Rajavi and His Great Sacrifice for Human Rights in Iran
Great loves lead to great choices, and these choices can only be fulfilled through great sacrifices.
This is the story of Kazem Rajavi. A dignified, cultured, passionate, noble, deeply emotional, and influential figure who, out of love for the cause of freedom in Iran, paid the ultimate price and was assassinated by the agents of the mullahs’ regime in 1990.
Dr. Kazem Rajavi, given his reputation, academic standing, and recognition, could have attained the highest positions in Iran after the 1979 revolution. However, he relinquished all of them to wear the ultimate title, the “Great Martyr of Human Rights,” like a rare medal on his bullet-riddled chest, securing a place of honor and integrity in the historical memory of the Iranian people.
Continued Detention Without Due Process: Melika Khaleghi Held in Legal Limbo at Kachouii Prison
Melika Khaleghi has been in detention for over a month without any formal charges or legal proceedings. She is currently being held at Kachouii Prison in Karaj.
Melika Khaleghi was arrested by security forces in mid-March 2025 and was initially held at the Karaj Intelligence Detention Center. On April 19, 2025, she was transferred to Kachouii Prison.
She faces vague charges, including “membership in groups opposed to the state” — an accusation frequently used by Iranian regime authorities to suppress dissidents. No court hearing has yet been held for Khaleghi, and her legal status remains unclear.
Iran’s Nuclear Escalation and the Consequences of Western Appeasement
In 2003, the Iranian regime publicly claimed to have frozen its nuclear program. However, this narrative changed in July 2015, when the United States, under President Barack Obama, pursued a policy of appeasement through the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal.
While promoted as a diplomatic breakthrough, the agreement provided Iran with the opportunity to clandestinely continue its nuclear activities while simultaneously expanding its destabilizing influence across the Middle East.
Rather than containing Iran, the JCPOA enabled the regime to escalate its regional interference and bolster its support for terrorist proxy forces throughout the region and beyond. The policy of appeasement allowed Tehran to consolidate power, eliminate opposition, and inch closer to the nuclear threshold.
Iran’s Schools Under Siege: Outcry Over Police Presence in Education System
For years, the Iranian regime has sought to shape the minds of the younger generation in its own repressive and ideological image. Through widespread indoctrination, censorship, and the systematic distortion of history and culture, authorities have aimed to recruit youth into the state’s authoritarian and militarized framework. Yet today’s generation of Iranian students is defying that narrative—choosing resistance over compliance and rebellion over repression.
Despite decades of regime-led attempts to impose reactionary values and suppress independent thinking, Iran’s youth continue to embody the spirit of dissent and the pursuit of freedom. Their courage has now become a potent force against the very system that sought to silence them.
This simmering tension reached a boiling point on Monday, April 21, when the publication of a controversial memorandum of understanding between the Police Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Faraja) and the Ministry of Education was made public. The agreement has sparked widespread outrage and alarm across Iranian civil society, particularly among educators, child rights activists, and legal experts.
Former Iranian Regime MP: The Country’s Situation Is Disastrous and Dangerous
Javad Arianmanesh, a former member of Iran’s regime Majlis (parliament), warned about the “disastrous” state of Iran’s economic and social conditions and expressed concern over the regime’s anxiety regarding the “dangerous situation.” He also attributed the causes of the January 2018 protests to the Friday prayer leader of Mashhad, emphasizing that the “entire system” has become “indifferent” to hardliners.
Arianmanesh, a conservative MP from 2004 to 2012, in an interview with Jamaran website—affiliated with the family of Ruhollah Khomeini—stated that currently “the popular base of the hardliner movement” is shrinking rapidly, and even religious ideologies can no longer connect the people to that movement.
Drought Looms Over Tehran; Groundwater Sources No Longer Reliable
Reduced water pressure, frequent power outages, and a shortage of storage reservoirs have made water supply increasingly difficult.
Despite ongoing efforts to provide a sustainable water supply in the capital, Tehran is on the brink of a severe water crisis. The continuous depletion of groundwater resources, ongoing drought, and land subsidence have sounded the alarm for the city’s water future. Water sector officials and experts have warned of the declining water supply capacity and described the current situation as “extremely concerning.”
According to a report by the regime-affiliated Mehr News Agency, Tehran’s heavy dependence on surface and groundwater resources, along with excessive extraction from wells, has pushed these sources into a critical state. The CEO of the Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company stated that groundwater extraction rose from 10 cubic meters per second in 2020 to 17.5 in 2023. Although it has decreased to 14.5 in 2024, these resources are no longer considered reliable.
