End Appeasement of Iran! Andy Burnham Told Now Is Time to Help Topple Terror Regime
Andy Burnham has been urged to end the “appeasement” of Iran’s brutal rulers and support “regime change from within” to prevent further terror. Former Defence Secretary Sir Liam Fox argues the new prime minister has a “unique opportunity to push the reset button on Iran policy.”
Sir Liam accused the UK and other western powers of “turning a blind eye to the escalation of Tehran’s malign activities, including its killing of thousands of protesters during the nationwide uprising in January.”
He blasted the international deal spearheaded by the Obama administration to stop Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon for giving the regime “vast sums in unfrozen assets and sanctions relief” while “doing nothing whatsoever to address its appalling human rights record or its support for international terrorism.”
Sir Liam claimed this allowed Iran to ramp up support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis and enabled “massive investment” in missiles and drones.
PMOI Resistance Units Mark Anniversary of 1988 Massacre with 60 Operations Across Iran
On August 7, 2026, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units across Iran carried out a sweeping wave of 60 daring operations. This coordinated campaign was launched to mark the 38th anniversary of the summer 1988 massacre of political prisoners and to honor the 30,000 individuals who courageously refused to surrender to the Iranian regime. Nearly four decades later, the fight for freedom in Iran is more alive than ever, with the spirit of the 1988 martyrs continuing to drive today’s rebellious youth.
Spanning across major cities and towns—including Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Khorramabad, and Aligudarz—the Resistance Units systematically targeted the regime’s machinery of suppression and ideological hubs. Brave youths targeted and set fire to the entrances of IRGC Basij bases, which play a central role in suppressing dissidents, as well as various regime buildings. Furthermore, several operations involved setting fire to regime centers for spreading fundamentalism and terrorism.
In a direct challenge to the regime’s supreme authority, the Resistance Units also shattered the ruling theocracy’s image of control by torching propaganda banners and posters of top regime figures. These included regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini, the eliminated supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the newly installed supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and eliminated terror mastermind Qasem Soleimani.
Iran: Marzieh Nayyeri, 24, Victim of Child Marriage, Executed in Qazvin
At dawn on August 8, 2026, the death sentence of Marzieh Nayyeri was carried out at Qazvin Central Prison, also known as Choobindar Prison. The 24-year-old woman had been convicted of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to retribution.
Marzieh Nayyeri was from a village located between Qazvin and Karaj. Six years ago, when she was only 17, she was forced by her family to marry a man named Davood, despite having no interest in the marriage. According to available information, Davood was involved in a real estate partnership with two other men and frequently consumed drugs and alcohol at home.
Five years ago, in early October, when Marzieh was 18, her husband and one of his business partners, attempted to assault her after having lunch. Marzieh stabbed them with a kitchen knife in self-defense, as a result of which her husband was killed.
During her trial, Marzieh stated under oath that she had previously been subjected to repeated threats of sexual assault by her husband’s associates and that on the day of the incident she acted solely to defend her dignity and her life. The court, however, did not accept Marzieh’s self-defense argument.
As of the time of publication, no official source or state media outlet has announced the execution of Marzieh Nayyeri.
Iran’s Drug Crisis Deepens as Warning Grows Over Planned Removal of Subsidized Currency
Iran’s healthcare crisis is deepening as medicine shortages, soaring treatment costs, and weak insurance coverage put growing pressure on patients. A senior Iranian lawmaker has warned that plans to eliminate subsidized foreign currency for medicines and medical equipment in 2027 could place the lives of patients who cannot afford treatment at serious risk.
Salman Es’haqi, spokesperson for the parliamentary Health and Medical Commission, said the government has been considering the removal of subsidized currency for medicines, medical equipment, and medical supplies since December 2025. Speaking to the state-run website Tabnak on August 8, he said the government apparently views the measure as a way to combat currency-related rent-seeking and corruption.
But Es’haqi warned that Iran’s healthcare system lacks the infrastructure needed to absorb such a change.
According to Es’haqi, around 43 medicines are currently classified as being in critical shortage, while nearly 1,000 medicines are facing shortages of varying degrees.
Retirees in Shush Protest Poverty, Inflation, Corruption, and Regime War Policies
Retired workers and pensioners in Shush, Khuzestan Province, took to the streets on Sunday, August 9, protesting against worsening living conditions, inflation, discrimination, corruption, and the policies of the Iranian regime.
The retirees gathered and marched in front of the Social Security Organization office, demanding action over inadequate pensions, soaring prices, declining purchasing power, and the deterioration of essential public services.
Their protest came as temperatures in Khuzestan exceeded 50 degrees Celsius, underscoring the determination of the demonstrators to continue pressing their demands despite extremely harsh conditions.
The protest was not limited to economic grievances. The retirees also condemned the regime’s policies, corruption, embezzlement, and what they described as the squandering of the country’s resources while ordinary people struggle to afford basic necessities.
Iran Regime Escalates Crackdown on Political Prisoners Amid Wave of Arrests and Prison Abuses
The Iranian regime is intensifying its campaign of repression against political opponents, PMOI/MEK supporters, and their families as it confronts growing social discontent and resistance across the country.
Recent reports reveal a pattern extending far beyond individual arrests. Arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, violent prison raids, torture, solitary confinement, sham judicial proceedings, and collective punishment are being used simultaneously across Iran’s prisons and detention centers.
The latest cases indicate that the regime is seeking to suppress dissent not only through executions, but also through a broader system of intimidation designed to isolate political prisoners and prevent their voices from reaching the outside world.
At least 11 people arrested between May and July 2026 remain without reliable information about their whereabouts or conditions, raising serious concerns about torture and other forms of ill-treatment during interrogation.
Iranian Regime Sets New Conditions for Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
While Iranian regime officials announced progress in Iran-Oman negotiations over shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, August 8, they also set out new and extensive conditions for reopening the waterway.
Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz “will not be reopened until the United States corrects its behavior,” as he put it. He emphasized that the council would not back down from this position “whether in war or negotiations.”
He set out six conditions for reopening the strait, including an end to the war and U.S. attacks on Iran and the Iranian regime’s allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq; an end to the naval blockade; the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from around Iran; full payment of war damages; the lifting of sanctions; and the release of Iran’s frozen assets. Zolghadr also called for an end to U.S. threats against Iran.
Hours earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson had also said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz “has essentially nothing to do with the Iran-Oman negotiations” and would take place only if the United States fully accepts “Iran’s conditions.”
