Iran Accused of ‘Covering Up’ Death Toll in Port Explosion Amid Concerns of Uprising
On Tuesday, the death toll reported from Tehran after the explosion had risen to 70, with another 1,200 said to have been injured from the blast. But, according to information from eyewitnesses and the impacts of the blast radius, those figures are expected to be drastically underreported amid concerns of escalating internal unrest, sources have told Fox News Digital.
According to information provided by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the actual death toll from the catastrophic explosion is suspected to be closer to 250, with an estimated 1,500 injured.

Iran’s Exiled Prince: The Legacy of Corruption, Repression, and the Incapability
In recent years, the figure of Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of the last Shah of Iran, has resurfaced as a purported leader of the Iranian opposition. With articles in prestigious publications like *Politico* offering him a platform, the media has presented him as a voice for change in Iran. However, this portrayal of Reza Pahlavi as an alternative leader is not only misleading but deeply insulting to millions of Iranians who have sacrificed their lives for democracy and human rights.
The Pahlavi family legacy is far from one of benevolence or progress. Mohammadreza Pahlavi, the last shah of Iran, came to power through a military coup in 1956 against Dr. Mosaddegh, the only democratic government in Iran’s history. His reign, marked by heavy-handed policies of modernization and centralization, was enforced through brutality and suppression. The Shah’s reign was characterized by a strong reliance on secret police forces, the notorious SAVAK (Organization of Intelligence and National Security), to monitor, intimidate, and eliminate political opponents.
Maximum Pressure Sanctions on Illicit Traders of Iranian Petroleum and Petrochemical Products
The Iranian regime continues to fuel conflict in the Middle East, advance its nuclear program, and support its terrorist partners and proxies. Today, the United States is taking action to stem the flow of revenue that the regime uses to fund these destabilizing activities. The Department of State is imposing sanctions on seven entities engaged in Iranian petroleum products and petrochemical products trade and is identifying two vessels as blocked property.
This action includes the designation of four sellers of Iranian petrochemicals and one purchaser who have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in illicit funds for Iran’s destabilizing activities. These companies send Iranian-origin petrochemicals and petrochemical products to third party countries and enable Iran to evade sanctions and continue to generate revenue.

Statement on Air Strike Against Houthi Military Facility in Yemen: 29 April 2025
On 29 April 2025, UK forces participated in a joint operation with US forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen. This action was in line with long-standing policy of the UK government, following the Houthis initiating their campaign of attacks in November 2023, threatening freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, striking international ships, and killing innocent merchant mariners.
Careful intelligence analysis identified a cluster of buildings, used by the Houthis to manufacture drones of the type used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, located some fifteen miles south of Sanaa.

Virtual Conference with Members of the Irish Houses of Parliament
Maryam Rajavi’s speech: “The recent explosions in the largest port of Iran with multitudes of victims killed and injured, were the outcome of the regime’s destructive military activities. This regime is also the main cause of repression, poverty, unemployment, and war for the people of Iran.
“The regime executed 22 prisoners in just three days between the 21st and the 23rd of April. Thousands of other prisoners are on the death row. In the year 1988, 30,000 political prisoners were massacred on Khomeini’s order in a short period while serving their prison sentences. More than 90 percent of them were members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
“In July 2024, Professor Javaid Rehman, the United Nations Special Rapporteur at the time, described this massacre as a crime against humanity and genocide. The Iranian regime is defined by its terrible human rights abuses, warmongering, and its efforts to obtain nuclear weapons.”
Cruz Urges Princeton to Take Action Over Professor Accused of Pro-Iran Allegiances, Citing Risk to Students
Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz called on his alma mater, Princeton University, to dismiss a former high-level Iranian regime official because he is allegedly making students feel unsafe amid recent outbreaks of antisemitism at the New Jersey university.
The ex-official for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Hossein Mousavian, who is a Middle East security and nuclear policy specialist at the university, is under pressure on many fronts from congressional representatives, Princeton students and experts on antisemitism.
“Mousavian is closely linked to the Iranian regime and to the regime’s campaigns of terrorism and murder. His presence at Princeton makes students feel justifiably afraid for their safety. Princeton’s decision to keep employing him shows they care less about their students and more about providing a platform for pro-regime and anti-American propaganda. That kind of reckless institutional ideological bias is exactly why the Trump administration is reassessing federal funding for Princeton,” Cruz told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.
Iranian Officials Report a “Massive Cyberattack” Against National Infrastructure
Coinciding with the explosion at Rajaei Port, Behzad Akbari, the CEO of Iranian regime’s Infrastructure Communications Company, announced a “massive and sophisticated cyberattack” against the country’s infrastructure, stating that the attacks had been identified and preventive measures had been taken.
On Monday, April 28, Akbari posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that these large-scale attacks had occurred on Sunday, April 27.

Iranian Authorities Refuse to Hand Over Body of Executed Political Prisoner to His Family
It has been one week since the deputy prosecutor in the northwestern city of Urmia told the brother of Hamid Hosseinnejad Heydaranlou that Hamid had been transferred to Tehran and executed. Hamid was a Kurdish porter (known as a “kolbar”) who was illiterate.
Reports from inside Iran indicate that Ronahi, the 13-year-old daughter of this Kurdish porter who was secretly executed by Iran’s judiciary on the early morning of Monday, April 21, has been denied entry to school and has been “banned from continuing her education.”
Following the summons of Hamid’s brothers to the Ministry of Interior’s intelligence office in Urmia, they were told there is no information about the body of the executed Kurdish porter, and that the family should “just move on with their lives.”
Dire Situation of Female Political Prisoners in Iran’s Prisons – Part Six
In the Islamic Republic of Iran, the regime employs a wide range of repressive tactics to silence dissent, from arbitrary arrests and fabricated charges to executions and family incarcerations. These methods not only target individuals but also exert immense pressure on their families. This report highlights the case of Shiva Esmaeili, a 60-year-old woman who symbolizes this systematic oppression, aiming to shed light on the profound suffering endured by her and her family.
Shiva Esmaeili, born around 1965 and a resident of Tehran, was arrested by security forces in November 2020. She is currently imprisoned in Evin Prison, one of Iran’s most notorious detention centers.
Reports indicate that on May 14, 2023, she was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari. The charges against her—“multiple instances of assembly and collusion to act against national security”—are political and fabricated, not based on any genuine crime.
