One month after the nationwide protests swept across Iran in late December 2025, the government’s violent crackdown continues unabated. In an interview with El Pais,U.N. The nationwide uprising of December 2025, which reached its peak in January 2026, was met with widespread street killings, harsh repression, and mass arrests.
