Miranda Devine: Trump Must Reverse Biden’s Iran Appeasement And Make The Mullahs ‘Broke Again’

New-York-Post-30112020

“Making Iran Broke Again” has a nice ring to it. After four years of shady appeasement by the Biden administration, Iran’s bloodthirsty regime is under pressure again — and just in the nick of time, before it finishes its nuclear weapons capability. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hammered Iran in his speech to the Economic Club of New York last week, foreshadowing harsh new sanctions and a long-overdue crackdown on the Islamist regime’s black-market oil economy.

Iran’s sanctions fraud was a dirty little not-so-secret of the Biden administration, known to intelligence agencies and hedge fund traders alike.

Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions Pose the Greatest Global Threat, U.S. Senator Warns

The Iranian regime’s nuclear program remains the most destabilizing force on the planet, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham warned in a recent interview. He emphasized that Tehran now possesses enough enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs, with no commercial justification for enrichment at 60% purity.

Speaking with Fox News, Graham stressed that Iran’s leadership would use nuclear weapons to advance its ideological and strategic goals, including eliminating Israel and driving the U.S. out of the region. He stated, “If they had a nuclear weapon, they would use it to further their religious agenda… They should not be allowed to enrich uranium.”

Graham outlined what he believes a real nuclear deal with Iran should include: complete removal of all highly enriched uranium from Iran, a ban on domestic enrichment, and an agreement where Iran’s nuclear fuel is supplied by an international entity, as is the case with the United Arab Emirates.

He further warned that any prolonged negotiations without firm deadlines would allow Iran to rearm and expand its nuclear capabilities. He concluded, “If you don’t put them on the clock, they’re going to rearm and retool.”

UN Security Council to Meet Over Iran’s Growing Stockpile of Near-Bomb-Grade Uranium

UNITED NATIONS, March 10 (Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council will meet behind closed doors on Wednesday over Iran’s expansion of its stock of uranium close to weapons grade, diplomats said on Monday.

The meeting was requested by six of the council’s 15 members – France, Greece, Panama, South Korea, Britain and the U.S.

They also want the council to discuss Iran’s obligation to provide the U.N. nuclear watchdog – the International Atomic Energy Agency – with “the information necessary to clarify outstanding issues related to undeclared nuclear material detected at multiple locations in Iran,” diplomats said.

Iran’s Escalating Drug Prices Push Cancer Patients to Desperation

Iran-Pharmacy

The sharp and multifold increase in drug prices in Iran has severely impacted cancer medications, leaving many patients struggling to afford life-saving treatments. According to healthcare activists, a growing number of cancer patients are being forced to abandon treatment due to the lack of insurance coverage for essential drugs and the exorbitant costs of those that remain partially covered. Dr. Soheil Rahimi, a physician based in Iran, highlighted the dire consequences of these rising costs during a recent psychology seminar. He revealed that “in recent months, following the drastic surge in the cost of medicine and treatment, we have seen patients begging doctors to end their lives due to extreme poverty and financial desperation.”

Araseb Ahmadian, CEO of the Mahak Charity Foundation, echoed these concerns, stating: “These expenses are unbearable for many families. For instance, the cost of a treatment protocol for children with cancer can exceed two billion tomans. Even those with basic and supplementary insurance lack the financial means to cover such costs. This often results in delays in treatment or the inability to access essential medications, directly jeopardizing children’s health.”

In recent months, crises within the Iranian regime have reached unprecedented levels, transforming into formidable threats that surround the regime both internally and externally. In addition to these domestic and foreign crises, escalating international tensions have further complicated the situation. The issue of women remains one of the most serious challenges facing the regime. The steadfastness of Iranian women has echoed resistance within the corridors of power, exacerbating internal divisions within the regime.
