Iran, Resistance Member: “The Regime Will Never Abandon Its Nuclear Bomb Program”

“The religious dictatorship ruling Iran is the source of terrorism and war in the region. It will never abandon its program to build a nuclear bomb, nor its military interventionism in the Middle East, because doing so would mean losing its hegemony and the guarantees of its own survival—leading to its collapse,” said Ahoura, 28, from Khuzestan province, a member of an Iranian Resistance Unit and supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), in an interview with LaPresse.

“As Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the elected President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, has stated regarding the ongoing nuclear talks, the regime is merely trying to buy time,” he added. “It is seeking to avoid activation of the ‘snapback’ mechanism and wants to ease growing public discontent by reducing the impact of sanctions.”

united states department of justice 1

WILMINGTON, N.C. – An Iranian national pleaded guilty today to participating in an international ransomware and extortion scheme involving the Robbinhood ransomware.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Sina Gholinejad, 37, and his co-conspirators compromised the computer networks of cities, corporations, health care organizations, and other entities around the United States, and encrypted files on these victim networks with the Robbinhood ransomware variant to extort ransom payments.  These cyber-attacks caused significant disruptions and tens of millions in losses, including to the City of Greenville, North Carolina, and the City of Baltimore, Maryland.  Baltimore lost more than $19 million from the damage caused to their computer networks and the resulting disruption to several essential city services, including online services for processing property taxes, water bills, parking citations, and other revenue-generating functions, which lasted many months. The conspirators used the damage they caused these cities to threaten subsequent victims.

Conference at the French National Assembly

Maryam Rajavi’s speech: “Last year, during our meetings, especially in this very questure room, we sought to demonstrate that the religious dictatorship has constructed a false image of its power through executions, terrorism, and warmongering. Unfortunately, in both Europe and America, advocates of appeasement continue to perpetuate the illusion that this regime is strong.

“However, today the world has begun to recognize its fragility. If the mullahs’ regime truly had a solid foundation, it would not have so quickly lost its position and influence in Syria and Lebanon. During the fall of Bashar al-Assad, their numerous troops would not have retreated so rapidly in the face of rebel attacks.”

IRGC-arrests-Iranians-for-anti-government-activities-in-southeastern-city-and-near-Tehran-min

Arbitrary arrest refers to the detention and deprivation of an individual’s liberty without legal authorization or beyond recognized judicial procedures. International human rights instruments strictly prohibit such acts. Even the legal codes of the regime ruling Iran formally ban arbitrary arrests. Nonetheless, in practice, these arrests occur frequently, violating both domestic and international law. International human rights organizations—including Amnesty International — have repeatedly and strongly condemned these practices. Victims include political activists, human rights defenders, journalists, and ordinary citizens.

Karaj Central Prison: Three Prisoners Transferred to Solitary Confinement for Execution

Iran-execution

As part of the ongoing wave of executions in Iran, three prisoners at Karaj Central Prison were transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday, May 25, 2025, for imminent execution. All three—Akbar Ebrahimi, Karam Rahmati (from Ward 4), and Rahim Amiri (from Ward 3)—have been sentenced to death on drug-related charges. According to reports from inside the prison, authorities deceptively sent all other inmates to the yard under the guise of routine outdoor time. During this time, the three death-row inmates were covertly moved to solitary cells—commonly referred to as “death cells”—to prevent any possible resistance. That same day, the families of the prisoners were allowed their final visits, a grim tradition that all but confirms the immediate execution of the detainees.

As Iran’s regime is trapped in a web of social, economic, and political crises, it has turned to executions to maintain its grip on power. In a single day, at least 14 prisoners—including four women—were executed in prisons across the country, including in Kermanshah, Damghan, Birjand, Kahnouj, Shiraz, Borujerd, and Zahedan. Since May 22, the number of executions has reached 20. Since April 21, the regime has executed 170 prisoners, marking the highest execution rate in recent years.

At dawn on Monday, May 19, Setareh Taherloo, a woman who had been arrested three years earlier on drug-related charges, was hanged in Damghan Prison. The rise in the number of women executed in recent months reflects the regime’s deep cruelty toward vulnerable segments of society.

Iranian Industry Leader Sounds Alarm Over Widespread Power Outages

Tehran – The head of the Industry Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce has strongly criticized the government for unannounced and widespread electricity outages that have severely impacted industrial production across the country.

In an interview with the state-run news agency ILNA , Alireza Kolahi-Samadi expressed deep concern over what he described as a growing energy crisis, warning that the lack of reliable power is causing “irreparable damage” to production lines, machinery, and components. “Many industrial units have experienced unexpected blackouts in recent months,” he said. “These outages have resulted in the manufacturing of substandard products, damage to electronic equipment, and significant waste.”

Kolahi-Samadi cited the example of a single medium-sized company that has reportedly suffered financial losses exceeding 13 billion tomans due to recurring outages. “Electricity is like blood for industry,” he stressed. “If this situation continues, we will witness the complete shutdown of production in several sectors.”
