Lebanon Vows Crackdown on Illicit Finance After US Sanctions Hezbollah Members

FRANCE24-logo-30112020

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun told US officials on Sunday his country was tackling money laundering and the financing of terrorism, days after Washington imposed sanctions on three Hezbollah members.

The trio were accused of money laundering to fund Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group, designated a terrorist organisation by the United States and other Western powers.

The US delegation’s visit to Beirut, headed by senior director for counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka, came as Washington works to cut off Iran-backed Hezbollah’s funding and Lebanon’s government tries to disarm it.

Iran’s Rebellious Youth Retaliate After Regime Security Forces Attack Defenseless Citizens in Ahvaz, Chabahar

On November 7, 2025, in response to the oppressive security forces and the corrupt municipality in Ahvaz—the perpetrators responsible for the destruction of a kiosk that led to the heartbreaking self-immolation of a young Arab citizen—Iran’s heroic rebellious youth set fire to a regime building in Tehran’s District 7. This act was carried out in solidarity with the grieving and protesting citizens of Ahvaz. On the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2025, they gathered in front of Taleghani Hospital, demanding the prosecution of those responsible for the self-immolation of Ahmad Baldi, a 20-year-old student. Baldi set himself on fire on Sunday, November 2, 2025, to protest the destruction of his father’s kiosk by the regime’s municipality agents and security forces.

Olympians Call on Iran to Halt Execution of Boxing Champion

guardian-logo-30112020

More than 20 Olympic medallists, coaches and other international athletes, including the tennis player Martina Navratilova and the swimmer Sharron Davies, have signed a letter calling for a halt to the execution of a boxing champion and coach, who is on death row in Iran. Amid growing international outrage over Iran’s escalating use of capital punishment as a tool of oppression, the strongly worded letter condemns the Iranian regime’s decision to uphold the death sentence of Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani.

Vafaei Sani, 30, from Mashhad in north-east Iran, was arrested for taking part in nationwide protests in 2019 and accused of supporting an opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (MEK). He has spent five years in prison, where he has been tortured and kept in solitary confinement.

At Least 67 Executed in Less Than Two Weeks as Iran’s Death Machine Accelerates

According to fresh reports, Zahra Khan Babaii, a female prisoner, was executed in Bandar Abbas Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She had been convicted on drug-related charges. No more details are known about this execution. Those responsible not only face no punishment but enjoy lives of extreme luxury, while vulnerable individuals such as Zahra Khan Babaii, driven by extreme poverty and unemployment, are sentenced to death and executed.

Escalating Suicide Crisis in Iran’s Prisons

suicides-400

The death of Ali Mirza Niazi in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad, on 6 November 2023, once again exposed the depth of the escalating suicide crisis inside Iran’s prisons. Niazi was left without medical intervention for hours after ingesting methadone and pills, and was transferred to hospital only when it was already too late. Weeks earlier, in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, Mohammad Koushki died under similar circumstances after swallowing drugs without receiving timely treatment. These cases are part of a persistent pattern in which prisoners in critical condition are not protected, but instead effectively abandoned at the point where intervention is most vital. In some cases, the link between violence, psychological collapse and death is even more explicit.

The Iranian Regime’s False Nationalism: A Theatrical Cover for Tyranny and Betrayal of the Nation

Iranians Defy Regime to Celebrate Cyrus the Great

Behind its patriotic slogans, the regime undermines Iran’s national interests, represses citizens, and exploits the idea of “nation” as propaganda for its survival. In Iran today, the regime’s claims of nationalism ring hollow. The Islamic Republic is not a “national” government in any meaningful sense of the word. Its authority does not rest on the will or consent of the people, and its policies do not aim to serve the nation’s interests. Instead, the regime’s recent display of nationalist posturing is nothing more than a cynical attempt to disguise its illegitimacy and authoritarian nature. Political science defines a “national political system” as one based on legitimacy, structured institutions, interdependence, and genuine participation by citizens — through free elections, respect for laws, and trust in state symbols. Such systems exist to protect the collective interest of the nation and ensure the rule of law.
