New Zealand Imposes New Sanctions Against Russia and Iran
New Zealand has adopted another package of sanctions against Russia, accusing it of breaching the Chemical Weapons Convention, New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters said. He stated that Russian military personnel have unlawfully used tear gas in Ukraine. Peters also mentioned that New Zealand authorities have “received reports” throughout the year regarding the use of chemical weapons by Russian forces. Additionally, the statement notes that alongside the anti-Russian sanctions, New Zealand is imposing restrictions on Iranian citizens who, according to Wellington, are involved in “supplying ballistic missiles and drones to Russia.”
The document issued by the country’s government states that Wellington “will join those partners who have imposed sanctions against Russia’s ‘shadow fleet.’”

Former Soldier Daniel Khalife Found Guilty of Spying for Iran
A former soldier whose prison escape sparked a huge manhunt in 2023 has been convicted of spying for Iran but cleared of carrying out a bomb hoax. Daniel Khalife was found guilty of two counts relating to his espionage on Thursday. The 23-year-old had admitted partway through his trial to the escape from HMP Wandsworth, in south-west London. Khalife had strapped himself to the underside of a food delivery van while being held on remand on the spying charges.
Prosecutors accused Khalife of playing “a cynical game” in claiming he wanted a career working as a double agent to help British security services. In fact, he gathered “a very large body of restricted and classified material”, they said.

Paris Conference: Iran- Regime Change as a Solution to the Middle East Crisis
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s speech: “On five occasions over the past 15 years, the majority of French parliamentarians have expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance. Alongside thousands of other parliamentarians worldwide, they have emphasized that disregarding the Resistance constitutes a significant political blunder. Yet, unlike the elected representatives of the European people, official policies have taken a different path. Regrettably, granting impunity to this regime of execution and massacre has resulted in approximately 850 executions in Iran since the beginning of the year.
“The ruling religious fascism thrives on war because it seeks to thwart a popular uprising in Iran. I stand before you today to affirm that it is possible to put an end to the mullahs’ terrorism and warmongering. The solution lies in the overthrow of this regime by the Iranian people and their Resistance.”
Europe’s Challenges Increase, as Does Iran Terror Threat
In a striking online conference held on Nov. 8, leaders and experts from around the globe came together to discuss the escalating threat posed by the Iranian regime’s terrorism in Europe and its broader implications for global security. Organized on the anniversary of the foiled assassination attempt on Professor Alejo Vidal-Quadras, the former vice president of the European Parliament, the event served as a clarion call for a comprehensive and robust European Union policy to counter Iran’s state-sponsored terrorism.
Vidal-Quadras, who miraculously survived the shooting attack in Madrid last year, opened the conference by underscoring the Iranian regime’s active role in orchestrating terror plots across Europe. He identified state-backed criminal networks, such as the regime’s collaboration with mafia organizations, as key instruments of their oppression.
Iran’s Mounting Crises: Economic Struggles and Waning Leverage
In recent weeks, officials of the Iranian regime have increasingly expressed concerns about the nation’s deepening crises, which they fear could lead to catastrophic consequences. Masoud Pezeshkian, the regime’s president, recently acknowledged widespread dissatisfaction among Iranians, stating, “Today, we are facing all kinds of problems—water, electricity, gas, and environmental issues. We are facing shortages in everything. Some of these dissatisfactions are on the edge of the abyss, and we must address them.”
Iran’s economic situation has reached a critical juncture, marked by stagnation, chronic inflation, and rising unemployment. The state-run newspaper Donya-e Eghtesad recently described the situation as unprecedented, noting: “Iran’s economy is in a state of chronic and worsening inflation, persistent unemployment, normalization of budget deficits, and continuous liquidity growth. What is happening in Iran today is unparalleled in the world, rendering the situation unpredictable and unsafe.”
Majlis Speaker: Iran Doesn’t Have Oil to Deny Enemies
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian regime’s Majlis (Parliament) indirectly referred to past threats by Iranian officials to cut oil exports to the West. Highlighting the current energy imbalance crisis in the country, he stated that Iran now lacks the oil and market leverage to threaten the world. On November 26, Ghalibaf said during a public parliamentary session: “There was a time when, in response to enemy threats, we used to say we’d shut off the oil supply to you—it was our leverage of threat. But today, with this situation, what oil can we shut off, and what market do we have?”
He further noted that, according to Iran’s oil minister, even if production exists, the country faces a “transportation problem” for transferring oil.
Amnesty International Calls for Revocation of Varisha Moradi’s Death Sentence
On Tuesday, November 26, Amnesty International issued a statement criticizing the death sentence handed down to Varishe Moradi, an Iranian political activist, and called for its immediate halt. This international organization deemed the trial of Varisha Moradi “unfair” and, citing violations of her rights during detention, urged Iranian authorities to immediately halt the death sentence, annul her conviction, and release her without delay.
In its statement, Amnesty International also called on the Iranian regime to impartially investigate the allegations of torture and mistreatment of this political activist, prosecute those responsible in fair trials, and ensure her access to adequate medical care as well as visits with her family and lawyers.
Three Prisoners at Risk of Amputation Appeal to Human Rights NGOs for Urgent Action
Iran HRM has obtained an open letter from three prisoners sentenced to amputation—Mehdi Shahivand, Mehdi Sharifian, and Hadi Rostami—who publicly urge human rights organizations to take immediate action to prevent their sentences from being carried out. They warn of the imminent threat posed by this inhumane punishment. This comes after the amputation sentence for two brothers imprisoned in Urmia Central Prison was recently carried out. In July 2023, four prisoners were threatened with imminent amputation by Naser Atabati, the Chief Justice of West Azerbaijan Province, during a prison inspection. Accompanied by Mojidi, the Prosecutor of Urmia, Atabati informed the prisoners that their sentences would soon be enforced. These individuals, identified as victims of dire economic conditions caused by systemic corruption, include Hadi Rostami, Mehdi Shahivand, Mehdi Sharifian, and Kasra Karami.
