Iran On-Profit ‘Front’ in NYC at Center of Hate Campaign in United States: Report
A Manhattan “front” for Iran has many tentacles in the five boroughs, including a 36-story office building on Fifth Avenue considered its crown jewel. The Alavi Foundation — named in a new report as a lynchpin of Iran’s “influence” campaign inside the US — also owns a 36,000-square-foot building in Queens that is home to a mosque and a school with a taxpayer-funded pre-K program.
In 2017, the federal government seized the soaring building at 650 Fifth Ave on the corner of East 52nd in what was then seen as a massive victory in the war on terror.
Secret Documents Show Hamas Tried to Persuade Iran to Join Its Oct. 7 Attack
For more than two years, Yahya Sinwar huddled with his top Hamas commanders and plotted what they hoped would be the most devastating and destabilizing attack on Israel in the militant group’s four-decade history.
Minutes of Hamas’s secret meetings, seized by the Israeli military and obtained by The New York Times, provide a detailed record of the planning for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack, as well as Mr. Sinwar’s determination to persuade Hamas’s allies, Iran and Hezbollah, to join the assault or at least commit to a broader fight with Israel if Hamas staged a surprise cross-border raid.
The documents, which represent a breakthrough in understanding Hamas, also show extensive efforts to deceive Israel about its intentions as the group laid the groundwork for a bold assault and a regional conflagration that Mr. Sinwar hoped would cause Israel to “collapse.”

The Truth of Pezeshkian’s “National Unity” Charade
The issue of “national unity” has become one of the Iranian regime’s ongoing crises. The phrase itself has technical, content-based, and semantic flaws within the context of the mullahs’ rule. First, the term “national” has no place or context in a regime structure based on the absolute rule of an unelected leader. Second, when the three branches of the State are subject to the decision-making and will of regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei, “unity” can only revolve around him but never around the nation.
This is why regime president Massoud Pezeshkian is playing the role of the supreme leader’s puppet. His statements only serve to amuse Khamenei. Over the past three months, Pezeshkian has taken on this role more than any of his counterparts. For instance, during his trip to New York for the UN General Assembly meeting, he claimed to advocate for global and regional peace and positive relations with the world. Meanwhile, Khamenei, through his loyalists, was sending a message of aligning foreign policy with military actions to intensify war efforts.
Iran’s Energy Crisis: Mismanagement and Regional Ambitions
In recent months, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, along with his deputies and other officials, have frequently addressed the nation about the ongoing gasoline crisis and the country’s excessive fuel consumption. These repeated appearances seem to signal a coordinated effort to prepare the public for an imminent increase in gasoline prices.
However, this is not the only fuel crisis facing Iran. A similar, albeit less publicized, situation is unfolding with diesel fuel, while the situation with natural gas is even more dire. Iran, home to the world’s second-largest gas reserves, accounting for 17% of the global supply, is paradoxically struggling with severe gas shortages. Industries, including the country’s vital thermal power plants, are also grappling with these shortages.
U.S. Expands Sanctions on Iranian Petroleum and Petrochemical Sectors in Response to Attack on Israel
In response to Iran’s recent attacks on Israel, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced a significant expansion of sanctions on Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sectors. The sanctions, announced on October 11, 2024, aim to limit Iran’s financial capabilities to fund destabilizing activities, including its nuclear program and support for terrorism.
The sanctions fall under Executive Order (E.O.) 13902, which allows the U.S. government to impose restrictions on critical sectors of the Iranian economy, particularly petroleum. This move is designed to block revenue streams Iran uses to fund missile development, nuclear activities, and regional terrorist proxies. According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen, these measures directly target Iran’s ability to use energy revenues for activities that destabilize the Middle East and threaten global security.
Iran’s Regime Is Hiring Criminals for Assassinations in The West
Reuters has recently published an investigative report titled, “Murder for hire: Inside Iran’s proxy war with Israel in the West” which includes examples of the Iranian regime’s collaboration with professional criminals for assassinations, threats, and abductions of Tehran’s opponents. According to court documents and government officials, Reuters has found that since 2020, at least 33 assassination or abduction plots have occurred in the West.
Local and Israeli officials have attributed the use of criminals for assassinations in the West to the Iranian government. One of these plots was an attack on a building in Athens, Greece, where a Jewish center and the Kashrut restaurant were located.
Iran’s Regime is Plotting to Assassinate U.S. Politicians
Politico has published a report on the Iranian regime’s efforts to assassinate Donald Trump and other senior U.S. officials following the death of Qassem Soleimani, the former head of the terrorist IRGC Quds Force.
The report states that since Soleimani’s death, Iran’s regime has consistently threatened retaliation, and U.S. officials have concluded that these threats are real and serious.
U.S. intelligence officials have also warned that these threats have increased in recent months. For example, two failed assassination attempts on Trump were made in the summer of 2024, although direct links to Iran have not been proven.
