Iranian State Media Reports Assassination of Khamenei-Appointed Cleric in Kazeroon

Iranian state media has reported that Mohammad Sabah, the Khamenei-appointed Friday prayer leader in the city of Kazeroon, was shot and killed by an armed assailant today, Friday, October 25.

Reports indicate that Sabah was attacked shortly after leading Friday prayers. After shooting Sabah, the assailant took his own life with the same weapon.

Fars News, affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, confirmed that Sabah was transferred to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The state broadcaster also reported his death, marking the latest incident in a series of violent attacks against state-affiliated clerics in the country.

Kazeroon, located in the western part of Fars province, has seen similar incidents in the past. In 2019, Mohammad Khorsand, another Friday prayer leader aligned with the regime, was stabbed to death outside his home by a local resident.

Treasury Sanctions Sudanese Armed Forces Weapons Procurement Director

US treasury department

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Mirghani Idris Suleiman (Idris) pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 14098, for leading the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) efforts to acquire weapons for use in its ongoing war with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Idris has been at the center of weapons deals that have fueled the brutality and scale of the war, serving as Director General of Defense Industries System (DIS), the SAF’s primary weapons production and procurement arm. OFAC designated DIS on June 1, 2023, for being responsible for, or complicit in, or having directly or indirectly engaged or attempted to engage in actions or policies that threaten the peace, security, or stability of Sudan.

Since the beginning of the war, the SAF has prioritized weapons acquisition, including Iranian drones and a port-for-weapons deal with Russia, choosing to expand the conflict rather than end it through good-faith negotiations. The weapons and diplomatic support provided by Iran and Russia have emboldened the SAF and lessened their interest in de-escalating the conflict.

Secret Iranian Missile Storage Site Exposed by Anti-Regime Group Amid Mounting Regional Tensions

Fox-News

A leading Iranian dissident group, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (MEK), has provided Fox News Digital with information about a secret site where the Islamic Republic of Iran allegedly stores and prepares the missiles it uses against foes, sells to allies, and provides to its proxies. Located in a mountainous region outside of Eshtehard City, northwest of Tehran in Alborz province, the camp, known as the Shahid (Martyr) Soltani Garrison, is heavily guarded and surrounded by two rows of barbed wire. It has purportedly seen increased activity in the latter part of 2024, with the MEK noting that “more than ten trailers carrying missile parts” passed into the camp in July.

Among the weapons stored at the site are the Shahab-3, Qiam, Fateh, and Fath series ballistic missiles, the MEK said.

The Truth of The Recent Peace Rhetoric of Iranian Regime Officials

Rocket

One of the key pillars of the Iranian regime’s survival is “exporting the revolution.” The establishment of a terrorist force called the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the creation of proxy forces using Iran’s national wealth serve this strategy. Slogans like “War, war until all sedition in the world is removed,” “Defending the Shrine of Zaynab (The eldest daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad),” and “Liberating Jerusalem” have promoted and propagated this strategy.

But after a year of stoking the fires of war in the region, these grandiose slogans have faded, replaced by humiliating and desperate maneuvers by the regime. In the early days of the war in Gaza, Iranian regime media boasted about the readiness of “martyrdom-seeking” forces and registration for deployment to Palestine.

Executions Mark Iran Regime’s Frenzied Bid to Cling to Power

newsmax-logo

When Masoud Pezeshkian assumed office as president of Iran on July 28, 2024, many Western leaders hailed the former heart surgeon as a “reformist” and a “moderate.”

Ever determined to look for a pearl in the rotting oyster of the Islamic Republic, Western appeasers continue to ignore the 85 million Iranians who are clamoring for regime change and instead, search fruitlessly for ways to revive dialogue and concessions with the criminal mullahs, all in the misguided belief that somehow this could moderate their intimidating behavior.

They should think again.

In the 12 weeks since Pezeshkian became the regime’s president, over 337 people have been executed, including 13 women. Confronted with this shocking statistic, Pezeshkian, in defense of these brutal executions, mockingly said that those who “talk about human rights ask why you execute a murderer.”

The Hidden Depth of Iran’s Budget Deficit

Iran-budget-2021-09122020

On Sunday, October 22, Iranian regime president Massoud Pezeshkian presented the budget bill for the upcoming year to parliament. While introducing the bill, he highlighted certain aspects but avoided addressing its main issue: the financial crisis and the substantial budget deficit. Two days earlier, on October 20, at the “Export Conference,” he vaguely mentioned the “budget imbalance” without specifying any figures, lamenting, “A debtor government has created imbalances in the banks and funds… which we keep trying to hide.” Pezeshkian did the same when presenting the budget bill, attempting to downplay this issue. However, the deficit is too significant to be concealed. According to government economic experts, it is “one of the fundamental challenges of Iran’s economy” and “continues to grow” (Arman-e Emrooz, October 22).

Women in the Iranian Labor Market: Persistent Barriers and Gender Inequality

iran-women-labor

The data from Iran’s Statistics Center reveals that, in 2023, of the 24 million workers in the country, only 4.6 million were women, comprising a mere 16% of the total workforce. This statistic underscores the persistent challenges that women face in entering and remaining in the labor market in Iran. Despite gradual societal changes, women’s participation in the workforce continues to be hindered by various obstacles rooted in traditional and conservative views. These barriers often manifest in both subtle and overt forms of discrimination, restricting women’s access to professional opportunities and career growth.

One of the primary challenges women face stems from the deeply ingrained cultural norms that prioritize homemaking and motherhood over professional aspirations. Conservative attitudes often confine women to non-professional roles, making it difficult for them to pursue careers outside the home. These societal expectations remain among the most significant impediments to women’s presence in the workforce.

Concerns Over Rising Gasoline Prices in Iran

iran-fuel-gasoline-card-subsidies

Following remarks by Iranian regime president Massoud Pezeshkian in Parliament about the necessity of what he called the “reform of energy subsidies, including gasoline,” concerns about a possible increase in gasoline prices next year and a reduction in gasoline quotas have intensified. These statements were made as Massoud Pezeshkian, in his speech while submitting the budget bill to Parliament, mentioned that the total cost of gasoline, excluding oil prices but including refinery, transportation, and station costs, amounts to approximately 80,000 rials (around $0.117).

He emphasized that this year approximately 900 trillion rials (around $1.323 billion) were spent on gasoline imports, and if the current situation continues, 1,300 trillion rials (around $1.911 billion) will be needed next year. Each liter of imported gasoline costs between 300,000 and 400,000 rials (around $0.44 to $0.58).

IMF: Iran’s Economic Growth Will Decline

IMF Building

Last year, Iran experienced 5% economic growth due to a significant increase in oil exports and government spending. However, according to the IMF’s projections, published on Tuesday, October 22, Iran’s economic growth will drop to 3.7% this year and only 3.1% in 2025. The decline will continue, reaching just 2% by 2029. As a result, the anticipated 8% economic growth target set in Iran’s Seventh Five-Year Development Plan (2024-2028) is unlikely to be achieved.

Previously, Iranian regime President Massoud Pezeshkian emphasized that to achieve 8% economic growth, $200 to $250 billion in investment is required. Pezeshkian noted, “We have no more than $100 billion available in the country, meaning if we gather all the money we have, we would reach $100 billion and could invest it. Therefore, we need $100 billion in foreign investment to achieve 8% economic growth.”
