Revealed: Iran’s Secret Military Base Shipping Ballistic Missiles Overseas

The-Telegraph

Iran is rapidly expanding a secretive military site used to manufacture ballistic missiles for export overseas, The Telegraph can reveal. The clandestine site is used to store and prepare missiles before they are shipped overseas to Tehran’s proxies and allies. Activity at the site, known as the “Shahid Soltani Garrison”, has intensified in the second half of the year, coinciding with reports from Western governments that Iran had begun shipping ballistic missiles to Russia.

The intelligence on the new site was compiled by the National Council for Resistance in Iran, an opposition group, with the help of sources inside the country and the IRGC. The group has a strong track record of gathering intelligence on the Iranian regime’s secret operations. It was the first to reveal the existence of the clandestine Natanz nuclear site, Tehran’s main uranium enrichment site, in 2002.

Vice President Kamala Harris said she considers Iran to be America’s “greatest adversary,” in a new interview on the CBS show “60 Minutes Overtime.” The Democratic presidential nominee’s choice of Iran, rather than Russia or China, underscores how much the Mideast war has shifted U.S. foreign policy priorities.

Speaking with “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker, Harris was asked which nation she considers “to be our greatest adversary.”

“I think there’s an obvious one in mind, which is Iran,” Harris replied. “Iran has American blood on their hands. This attack on Israel, 200 ballistic missiles.”

Iran’s Economy Struggles with Lack of Investment Amid Rising Deficits

Iran has faced a severe lack of economic investment for several years, a trend that continues into 2024. According to a recent report by the Iranian Parliament Research Center on the nation’s 2024 fiscal budget, the government has made no significant construction or infrastructure investments. Instead, available funds have been directed towards covering the government’s operational expenses.

The government’s financial records, which outline the budget implementation, are crucial political-economic documents. They reflect how effectively senior economic managers have adhered to fiscal policies. A consistent concern for both managers and experts has been the budgetary deviation, an issue often highlighted in the annual reports of Iran’s Court of Accounts.

The Court of Accounts, one of the key supervisory bodies, has become increasingly proactive in recent years, regularly publishing reports on budget shortfalls. While such reports were historically delayed, the institution has recently released updated financial indicators for the first half of 2024, offering a more timely view of the regime’s financial activities.

The State of Children’s Rights in Iran: A Tragic Contrast with Global Standards

Literacy-in-Iran_08092020

October 8 marks International Children’s Day in Iran, a day dedicated to highlighting the rights and well-being of children. While countries around the world celebrate this occasion on various dates, the United Nations has officially designated November 20 as Universal Children’s Day. This day serves as a global reminder of the importance of protecting children’s rights and ensuring their welfare. However, in Iran, this commemoration often seems like a bitter irony rather than a genuine celebration.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) prioritizes five core areas for the protection and development of children worldwide: child survival and development, access to quality education, gender equality, protection from violence and abuse, and the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Yet, when comparing these priorities with the reality faced by millions of Iranian children under the current regime, the stark disparity becomes undeniable.

The regime’s Majlis (Parliament) Research Center published a report on housing poverty in Iran, which was removed from the center’s website hours after its release. This report revealed that the population living in deteriorated urban areas has increased in recent years. According to the report, the most significant manifestation of housing poverty in urban areas is the high share of rent in total household expenses. The main reason for this is the high and increasing cost of rent in urban regions.

The report indicated that in provincial divisions, the highest number of families either without housing or struggling with the disparity between income and housing costs are in Tehran and Alborz provinces.
