A workers protest in Iran

On Thursday, December 5, more than 200 workers of carpet weaving complex companies in the province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari gathered in protest outside the cooperation center in the city of Shahrekord against the government’s anti-labor policies, which has led to their unemployment.

On Sunday, December 8, 650 workers of ‘Naybor’ Agricultural and Industrial complex quite working in objection to their demands not being addressed by the employer.

One of the workers told state-run ILNA news agency, “We did not go to work and staged a sit-in to protest to the assurances given to us for increasing our salary and other rights, which have not been met so far.”

“We will continue with our protests if we are not responded by the employer.”

On Saturday, December 7, around 360 workers of Iran Carton factory staged a protest against the mismanagement and negligence of the factory owner towards their demands.

On Wednesday, December 4, workers of Besbaran Petrochemical factory joined the strike of Kharazmi Petrochemical workers that had began their strike from November 30, demanding an increase in salary.

The factory official had previously promised the workers an increase in salary.

On Wednesday, December 4, workers of Tabriz Kaf Tile Factory gathered to protest 28 months’ delayed wages.

Some 250 workers of the factory have not received their salary for more than 2 years.

He added that the employer of this factory owns two other factories that are also on the verge of closing down and its workers becoming unemployed.

On Friday, December 6, more than 2000 workers of Chadermlou Mine protested and boycotted work against the illegal expulsion of a worker and demanded his return.

On Tuesday, December 3, around 2000 workers of Naybar Karun Agriculture and Industrial Complex in the city of Shushtar went on strike for the second day to protest the employer’s negligence towards their demands.

On Sunday, December 1, the youth in Mahshahr Port, broke down several ATM machines in protest to the bank officials for not paying their money saved in Bank.
On Monday, December 2, around 100 workers of Hamedan’s communication center protested outside the communication company and held signs expressing their objection towards the company’s method of carrying out the agreement.

The workers demand a full time contract with the company.

On Monday, December 2, 280 workers of the maintenance unit of Pars Gas Complex gathered outside the executive director’s office to protest the decrease in their income. This is the second time that the workers have staged a protest.

The security forces then tried to disperse the crowd, ending the protest; however, the workers paid no attention and continued with their strike.
