Simaye Azadi’s 29th Telethon: A Beacon of Resistance and Hope for Iran

Simaye Azadi (Iran NTV) 29th Telethon

Simaye Azadi, the dissident satellite TV channel serving as the voice of the Iranian Resistance, successfully concluded its 29th telethon, raising an unprecedented 599 billion tomans ($7.31 million). This milestone underscores the channel’s vital role in exposing the regime’s repression and amplifying the voices of a nationwide movement demanding democracy and freedom.

For 54 hours, from January 17 to January 21, contributions poured in from Iranians across the world, including those inside the country, despite severe economic hardships and oppressive conditions. From political prisoners and academics to ordinary citizens, participants pledged their support, underscoring Simaye Azadi’s role as a lifeline for the Iranian people and their Resistance.

One of the few independent media outlets focused on Iran, Simaye Azadi is known for broadcasting unfiltered news, reports, and documentaries that highlight the regime’s human rights abuses and the efforts of the Iranian Resistance. Its financial independence maintained entirely through public contributions, ensures it remains free from regime influence and propaganda.

A Platform for the People’s Voices

Contributors shared messages of hope, resilience, and defiance against the regime. Sepideh, an elderly woman from Mashhad, donated 80 million rials despite her husband’s unemployment, declaring: “Simaye Azadi is the light of our home. The regime has been exposed, and its power is no longer effective. We are ready to fight until freedom is achieved.”

Samira from Iran’s Kurdistan pledged her monthly medication expenses, stating: “With God’s help and under the leadership of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, we will reclaim our beloved Iran.”

From outside Iran, contributors echoed the same determination. Saeed from Norway called Simaye Azadi “the voice of freedom” and announced a collective contribution of 260,500 Norwegian krones. Similarly, Afsaneh from Germany likened the telethon to “the arrival of spring,” pledging €27,600.

International Endorsements

The telethon also drew support from international political figures, academics, and activists. John Perry, a former Irish government minister, emphasized: “Simaye Azadi broadcasts the Iranian people’s struggle. This independent TV is crucial in amplifying their voices and exposing the regime’s atrocities.”

Similarly, The Rt. Hon. David Jones and William Powell from the UK acknowledged the channel’s role in highlighting the Iranian Resistance’s efforts and the regime’s increasing vulnerability.

A Movement Beyond Borders

Contributions from over 40 countries reflected the global solidarity behind Iran’s resistance movement. Whether through financial support, personal sacrifices, or sharing stories of perseverance, participants reaffirmed their commitment to challenging the regime’s oppression.

Messages from inside Evin Prison further underscored Simaye Azadi’s importance as a platform for the oppressed. Female political prisoners called on Iranians to support the channel, describing it as “the voice of the uprising and the people’s hope.”

Simaye Azadi’s 29th telethon was more than a fundraising effort—it was a resounding affirmation of unity and determination. At a time when the regime faces unprecedented internal and external challenges, this event demonstrated the strength of a movement committed to democracy and human rights.

As Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, stated: “Every step taken for the Resistance is a step toward reclaiming Iran’s freedom. Together, we will end decades of tyranny and build a democratic future.”

The telethon’s success sends a clear message to the regime: the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom is alive and unyielding, supported by a global network that will not rest until Iran is free. Simaye Azadi remains at the forefront, illuminating the path toward a democratic and sovereign Iran.
