In the days since the Iranian regime executed PMOI members Mohammad Taghavi and Akbar Daneshvarkar on 30 March and Babak Alipour and Pouya Ghobadi on 31 March 2026, Iranian diaspora communities, NCRI supporters, PMOI-led Resistance Units inside the country, and international supporters have unleashed a massive, coordinated campaign of rallies, creative direct actions, exhibitions, and diplomatic protests across more than 20 cities in Europe, North America, and beyond.

The actions — ranging from chaining themselves at UN gates and government buildings to splashing paint on regime embassies, hanging giant banners, and staging photo exhibitions — aim to keep global attention focused on the plight of Iran’s political prisoners and demand an immediate halt to further executions.

Immediate Outpouring

On March 30 and 31, right after the first two hangings, Iranian activists held urgent demonstrations outside the US State Department in Washington DC, French Foreign Ministry in Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Bern (Switzerland), Oslo, and Heidelberg. Protesters displayed large photos of the victims and called on Western governments to condemn the crimes and pressure the regime.

Coordinated Youth Resistance and Dramatic Diaspora Actions

On March 31 and April 1, members of the PMOI-led Resistance Units inside Iran carried out widespread actions in multiple cities, displaying photos of the four martyrs to keep the flame of resistance alive under repression.

Abroad, supporters of the Iranian Resistance staged powerful protests in Vienna (stones thrown at the regime embassy with martyrs’ photos facing the windows), Berlin (activists in blood-stained white shirts chained across streets at the Foreign Ministry with a giant “Stop Executions” banner), Stockholm (three activists chained to poles outside the Foreign Ministry in blood-stained shirts), Washington DC, Oslo, Gothenburg (embassy protest), Hanover, Vancouver, Aarhus, Melbourne, Copenhagen, and Bucharest.

Additional actions occurred at Jochum (giant “Stop Executions” banner on a bridge with Iranian flag) and Hamburg.

Escalating Protests Target Embassies, Ministries, and UN Bodies

On April 1 and 2, protests intensified with direct actions at regime symbols and international institutions. In Copenhagen, activists splashed red paint on the embassy walls and held a separate “oath-renewal” ceremony for the four martyrs. In Stockholm, two women threw objects at the embassy. In London, demonstrators chanted outside the Foreign Office demanding regime overthrow and embassy closure.

In Berlin, a large banner with the martyrs’ photos and “Stop Executions” was hung on the Freedom Angel statue. In Geneva, a five-person team chained themselves to the UN Human Rights Council gates with “Urgent Action – Stop Executions” banners and Iranian flags while another group chanted across the street; a parallel protest targeted the UN European Headquarters over international inaction.

Further actions took place in Rome (supporters sang “Salam, the Sacred Moment of Liberation”), Alicante, Spain (photo exhibition of the martyrs), Paris (bookstall and martyrs’ photo exhibition plus oath-renewal action at the embassy), Aarhus, Vienna, and additional embassy protests in Stockholm and Copenhagen with powerful chants including “Close the regime’s embassies” and “Every execution sparks a thousand more.”

One of the central demands repeated at every rally has been the immediate closure of the regime’s embassies and expulsion of its agents.

Broader Support from Activists and Human Rights Groups

A major rally is already scheduled for Paris on 11 April under the slogan “Peace and Freedom,” organized by Iranians in France and democracy advocates to support regime change by the Iranian people and the establishment of a secular democratic republic.

This unprecedented global effort — spanning continents, involving every form of creative resistance, and sustained day after day — demonstrates the determination of Iran’s bravest supporters to keep the world’s eyes on the regime’s crimes and to protect the lives of remaining political prisoners.

The message is unmistakable: the executions will not be met with silence.
