The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) office in the United States and diaspora activists are preparing for a high-profile demonstration in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, May 16, 2026, directly in Upper Senate Park, next to the U.S. Capitol. The event, organized under the banner of stopping the regime’s surge in executions and supporting the Iranian people’s resistance, is expected to draw thousands of people demanding international action against the terrorist regime ruling Iran. Organizers are calling for:

  • Immediate international intervention to halt executions and mass killings, and to hold the regime’s judicial executioners accountable in order to save the lives of political prisoners.
  • Full support for the interim government outlined in Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan.
  • Recognition of the Iranian people’s legitimate struggle to overthrow the clerical regime, including the role of PMOI-led Resistance Units in confronting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
  • Advancement toward a democratic, secular republic under the guiding principle of “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs.”

The demonstration comes amid heightened concerns over the regime’s escalating executions of political prisoners and protesters, particularly those linked to the January 2026 uprising.

Paris Rally Announced as Next Major Mobilization

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is also organizing the Grand Paris Free Iran Rally on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 14:00 CEST in Paris. The event is being promoted under the hashtag #ParisFreeIranRally.

Recent grassroots activities in Paris and other European cities—including book stalls and photo exhibitions held by NCRI supporters—have condemned the executions of Iranian political prisoners and protesters from the January 2026 uprising. These events also serve to mobilize participation in the upcoming June 20 rally. Organizers expect more than 100,000 attendees to gather under the slogans “Stop Executions in Iran” and “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs,” affirming the NCRI as a viable alternative to transition power from the current regime to its rightful owners: the people of Iran.

At a time when the regime in Iran holds both the nation and the global economy hostage—and as decades of appeasement and foreign intervention have failed to alter its behavior—this movement provides a critical turning point. By linking a domestic network of resistance with a relentless campaign of global activism, it sends a definitive message to the world: regime change is not only possible but is the only viable path forward.
