NCRI – Thousands of Iranians demonstrated in front of the White House today, January 19, expressing support to Maryam Rajavi’s proposal for democratic change in Iran.
Demonstrators also called for immediate referral of the religious dictatorship’s nuclear file to the UN Security Council for adoption of sanctions.
Participants carrying the banner of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), the main opposition to the mullahs’ fundamentalist regime, called for its removal from the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations. In their slogans they chanted, "We want justice, we want peace, we want Mojahedin off the list."
Several members of the US Congress sent messages of solidarity to the gathering and supported its demand for democratic change in Iran which was offered as a viable solution to the current regime by the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran at the European Parliament in December 2004.
