In a bold and unified move, a majority of members of Yemen’s parliament—including the leaders of all parliamentary factions—have signed a declaration supporting the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the Ten-Point Plan of its President-elect Maryam Rajavi. The statement calls for the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and recognizes the right of PMOI Resistance Units inside Iran to actively resist the clerical dictatorship.

The lawmakers condemned the destabilizing role of the Iranian regime in the Middle East, asserting that Tehran’s aggressive foreign policy is inseparable from its domestic repression. “The regime’s warmongering is tied to its identity and survival,” the statement reads. “It continues its destructive interference in neighboring countries, while seeking nuclear weapons to reinforce that policy.”

Yemeni parliamentarians declared that only a decisive and firm stance against Tehran can bring an end to decades of conflict. “Appeasement emboldens the regime’s terrorism and increases the risk of a nuclear-armed dictatorship,” they warned.

Referring to the people of Iran and their organized resistance, the statement emphasizes that the solution to the ongoing crisis lies in standing with those who seek to end the rule of the Supreme Leader and establish a democratic republic based on peace, coexistence, and secular governance. The signatories explicitly reject both theocratic and monarchical dictatorships, affirming that the Iranian people have clearly turned away from both through their uprisings.

The declaration hails Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan as a credible and democratic vision for Iran’s future, advocating for gender equality, religious freedom, an independent judiciary, a non-nuclear state, and the abolition of the death penalty. The parliament also expressed support for the NCRI as the most organized alternative capable of leading a peaceful transition in Iran.

The Yemeni lawmakers noted that Tehran’s regional influence is unraveling, citing setbacks such as the collapse of its dominance in Lebanon and Syria. Nonetheless, the regime continues to suppress dissent at home through mass executions and brutal crackdowns—particularly targeting MEK members and supporters.

The statement echoes a growing international trend. In June 2024, over 4,000 parliamentarians from all political affiliations, along with more than 130 former heads of state and government, publicly endorsed Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for a democratic Iran.

The Yemeni parliament now joins that international front, calling on world governments to recognize the Iranian people’s right to resist tyranny and to stand with their struggle for freedom, justice, and democratic change.
