NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF June 26, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) announced this afternoon, June 26, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 61,500 in 340 cities across Iran.

The death toll in various provinces include: 4,685 in Khuzestan, 3,635 in Khorasan Razavi, 3110 in Gilan, 1945 in Alborz,1,657 in West Azerbaijan, 1,515 in Golestan, 1,510 in Kermanshah, 1,245 in Kurdestan, 607 in North Khorasan, and 525 in Hormozgan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

Another Setback for Iran Regime’s Propaganda Against MEK

German court has just ruled in favor of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, in a case challenging the content of a newspaper article purporting to describe the situation in a compound near the Albanian capital of Tirana, Ashraf-3, that houses members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran(PMOI-MEK). Both the compound and the MEK have been targets of extensive disinformation campaigns by the Iranian government ever since members of the MEK finished relocating to Albania from Iraq. 

The recent court ruling made it clear that the article, published on May 13 in the Frankfurter Allgemeiner Zeitung, had violated essential journalistic standards in presenting certain allegations as factual, and would have still been in violation even if the relevant allegations had been presented with a less definitive tone.

The Iranian regime’s Supreme Court has upheld death sentences against three young men arrested during the nationwide Iran protests in 2019

The Iranian regime’s Supreme Court has upheld death sentences against three young men arrested during the nationwide Iran protests in 2019. Their lives are at risk; therefore, the international community should intervene to avoid this tragedy.  

These three young men, identified as Amir-Hossein Moradi, Mohammad Rajabi and Saeed Tamjidi, were accused of being “riot leaders,” as the regime’s Judiciary spokesperson said on February 18, therefore sentenced to death by Branch 15 of the regime’s Revolutionary Court in Tehran, charged with “Moharebeh” or “enmity against God.”

“We will continue to struggle until the day of freedom of Iran” : MEK Resistance Units

The Iranian Resistance Units, a network of activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) across Iran, have been organizing various activities that are louder calls for regime change. The Resistance Units bravely took to graffiti in public places in different cities with the slogans: “Rise up to overthrow the regime of the Supreme Leader,” “Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi,” “We will continue to struggle until the day of freedom of Iran,” “Down with Khamenei, hail to freedom,” “We will overthrow the criminal regime.”
They wrote:

Iran, coronavirus pandemic: The death toll in 340 cities exceeds 61,100

  • In Khomeini Hospital in Tehran, number of Coronavirus inpatients has increased from 595 to 1340 over five days. 
  • Deputy Health Minister: In some provinces, such as Qom and Gilan, about 40% are infected with Coronavirus. In Tehran, it is about 15%. It was in our interest that the reopening did not happen, but there are people that can’t make ends meet if they don’t work daily. 
  • Last night alone, ten people died in Gonbad Kavus. The city may face a shortage of beds in the next two or three days, while many areas of Golestan are red; Friday prayers are scheduled to be held in 13 cities of the province 
  • Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences: The number of beds is increasing every day, and the number of patients and deaths is increasing. If it continues like this, we will have a severe condition.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Thursday, June 25, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 340 cities across Iran has passed 61,100. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 4,635, Qom 3,815, Khorasan Razavi 3,510, Isfahan 3,140, Lorestan 2,195, West Azerbaijan 1,640, Fars 1,220, and Kerman 760.

Poverty and unpaid wages trigger protests in Iranian cities

Protests by workers of Haft Tapeh, Khuzestan province

For the tenth consecutive day on Wednesday, the workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company, Khuzestan province, continued their strike and held a rally in at the company’s premises. They held banners that read “Haft Tappeh workers, unite, unite!”

In the past year, the workers of Haft Tapeh have held strikes and demonstrations on several occasions in protest to poor working conditions and unpaid wages. In 2018, they held a strike that lasted several weeks and gained widespread support inside Iran and among labor communities across the world. The regime, however, responded to the demands of the workers by cracking down on their protests and arresting and torturing the organizers of the strike.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, June 26, 2020, marks the 224th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
