Iran: Ahmadinejad's response to EU offer today prove incentives ineffectiveNCRI – In a reaction to the offer of a light water reactor by the European Union in exchange for the Iranian regime to agree to halt enrichment activities, Ahmadinejad said, “They think they are facing a four-year-old child and that they can take away our gold and give us some nuts and chocolate in exchange”.

Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chair said, “Ahmadinejad’s comments today as well as the comments by the Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister yesterday prove that no matter how many incentives are given to the mullahs’ regime, it would not abandon its nuclear weapons program”.

He added the ruling theocracy views nuclear weapons and the export of terrorism and fundamentalism as the two pillars of its rule. Any delays in imposing sanctions by the Security Council on the mullahs’ regime would only take it a step closer to obtaining nuclear weapons and the world closer to a major catastrophe.
