Trump’s Iran Policy Puts Focus on $30 Billion-a-Year Oil Revenue
Donald Trump could blow a $30 billion hole in Iran’s economy should he return to a maximum pressure campaign on Tehran.
Over the past four years, sanctions evasion and more relaxed US enforcement have allowed the Middle Eastern nation to boost oil exports by about 1 million barrels a day, with most of the supply going to China, according to Bloomberg’s tanker tracking data and estimates by commercial and government organizations. But that could change quickly.

This attack left several teachers injured in their eyes and throats, sparking widespread outrage and chants such as “Shame on you!” against the security forces. This incident symbolizes the Iranian regime’s violent approach to silencing calls for justice.
Seizure of Iranian Assets: The Crescent Case and Its Global Implications
A recent ruling by the Rotterdam Regional Court rejected the National Iranian Oil Company’s (NIOC) protest over the confiscation of its building in Rotterdam. This property was subsequently transferred to Heuvel Vastgoed B.V., in accordance with an international arbitration verdict, due to NIOC’s debt in the Crescent case. The expropriation became final on April 20, 2023, when the building was sold in a public auction.
The process began on May 20, 2022, when a Dutch court issued a temporary arrest warrant for the building at Crescent Petroleum’s request. Following months of legal proceedings, this ruling was upheld, paving the way for the auction. Despite NIOC’s efforts to invalidate the auction by invoking international laws regarding state immunity, the District Court of Rotterdam dismissed their objections. Legal experts view this decision as setting a precedent for future cases involving Iranian assets.
Wages of Iranian Workers Cover Only 30% of Household Expenses
Hamidreza Emamgholi Tabar, an inspector of the Iranian regime’s Supreme Assembly of Workers’ Representatives, announced that the cost of a livelihood basket for a 3.3-person working-class family has reached 400 million rials (approximately $494), while the average wage of workers is only 150 million rials (approximately $185), which covers only 30% of household expenses. The minimum wage for a worker with two children is around 110 million rials (approximately $136).
While some labor unions have called for a review of wage policies and the implementation of Article 41 of the Labor Law to set wages in line with living costs, government officials have announced wage increases based on the “difficulty of work.”
