Call To Save the Life of 17-Year-old Arman Abdolali on Death Row
Arman Abdolali, a death row prisoner, arrested in 2013 at the age of 17 on murder charges, was transferred to solitary confinement this morning after eight years in prison. The clerical regime is reportedly planning to hang him on Wednesday, October 13.
In another development, following the beating of several political prisoners detained in Ward 2 of the Greater Tehran Penitentiary (Fashfouyeh Prison), 14 political prisoners were transferred to Ward 1 of the 2nd Brigade known as the “closed” ward. This ward has much worse living conditions than the rest of the prison and is considered a punishment ward.
On Friday, October 8, 2021, acting on orders by the prison warden in charge of Ward 2, several imprisoned criminals attacked political prisoners with knives, clubs, and brass knuckles, wounding several of them, including Akbar Bagheri, Pouya Ghobadi, Shapour Ehsaniarad, Esmail Gerami, and Akbar Faraji.
Meanwhile, since Sunday, October 10, the political prisoners of the Greater Tehran Penitentiary have been cut off from the outside. Those beaten and injured on the orders of the prison warden cannot report on their situation.
The Iranian Resistance urges the United Nations Secretary-General, the UN Human Rights Council, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as other human rights organizations, to take urgent action to save the lives of death row prisoners, especially Arman Abdolali. The Iranian Resistance once again reiterates the need for an international commission of inquiry to visit the Iranian regime’s prisons and meet with prisoners, especially the political prisoners.
