Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: These criminal acts will not save the regime but will double the resolve of the rebellious youths to overthrow it.

  • Calling for effective and immediate measures to halt the machine of executions and suppression in Iran and to bring the regime’s leaders to justice.
  • Sasan’s charges according to the regime’s judiciary: attacking the State Security Force and inciting others to riots with the aim of overthrowing the system.

In another atrocious crime at dawn today, April 30, 2026, the anti-human clerical regime hanged the courageous rebellious youth Sasan Azadvar, a son of the people of Isfahan who was arrested during the January uprising. Sasan, who joined the ranks of the martyred rebellious youths today, was 21 years old and a karate champion. He was severely tortured after his arrest. This criminal sentence was issued by Branch 1 of Isfahan’s sham Revolutionary Court, presided over by the executioner judge Morteza Barati, and upheld by the regime’s Supreme Court.

The regime’s judiciary listed Sasan’s charges as “attacking State Security Force (SSF) officers with the intention of confronting the system, destroying a State Security Force vehicle, disrupting the country’s security, and inciting others to riots and chaos with the aim of overthrowing the system.”

The regime’s judiciary added that Sasan “attacked a minibus carrying officers with stones and clubs in one of the streets of Isfahan while the State Security Forces were inside the vehicle, broke the vehicle’s windows, fled the scene upon the presence of security forces, but again resorted to throwing stones and bricks at the officers” (Mizan, April 30, 2026). According to the Mizan news agency, after breaking the windows of the SSF vehicle, Sasan sought to obtain gasoline to set the vehicle on fire but was unsuccessful and resumed throwing stones and bricks at the officers.

Meanwhile, the mullahs’ Ministry of Intelligence announced, without naming them, that “the General Directorate of Intelligence of Lorestan Province has arrested the members of a three-person cell affiliated with terrorist groups, consisting of two men and one woman, in Lorestan” who were burning government banners. The Ministry of Intelligence claimed that “the ringleaders of this terrorist group sought to prepare the cell members for the next steps, which were creating insecurity and chaos and attacking state centers, through military and ideological training.” According to the Ministry’s claim, this cell had been tasked with conducting armed attacks on the regime’s governor’s offices in the western provinces using homemade bombs (state-run news agencies Mehr and Tasnim, April 29).

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that the continuous executions of steadfast members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and rebellious youths, alongside widespread arrests across the country, reflect the religious dictatorship’s desperation and fear of the fire of the people’s anger. It is a desperate attempt to prevent the people’s uprising. However, these criminal acts will not only fail to save the regime from its deadly crises, but they will also double the resolve of the rebellious youths to overthrow it.

Mrs. Rajavi called on the international community to decisively condemn the executions of political prisoners and rebellious youths, as well as the arbitrary arrests. She urged the United Nations Security Council and its member states to take immediate measures to halt the mullahs’ machine of executions and suppression. She reiterated that respect for and adherence to universal human rights principles necessitate that the leaders of the clerical regime be brought to justice for 47 years of crimes against humanity and genocide.
