Iran: Prison Guards Raid Halls 3 and 4 of Evin’s Ward 7
Increasing Pressure on Political Prisoners in Various Cities
Call for Urgent Action and an International Fact-Finding Mission to Visit the Mullahs’ Regime’s Prisons
Today, Saturday, August 8, 2026, around 11:30 AM, Evin prison guards brutally raided Halls 3 and 4 of Evin’s Ward 7. They beat the prisoners and, under the pretext of searching the rooms, destroyed the prisoners’ belongings and plundered their personal property. There is no information on the fate of the imprisoned supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)—Ehsan Rostami and Mojtaba Taghavi in Hall 3, and Amirhossein Moradi and Hassan Amidi in Hall 4.
Previously, on Saturday, August 1, Evin prison guards raided Hall 2 of Ward 7, beating and forcibly removing several PMOI supporters, including Amirhossein Moradi, Ehsan Rostami, Pejman Toobreh-Rizi, and Mojtaba Taghavi.
The raid on political prisoners is part of a systematic policy to intensify suppression and pressure against political prisoners across various prisons.
The regime’s judiciary has announced that political prisoner Parisa Kamali will be tried in a sham court on Monday, August 10, at the Yazd Central Prison on charges of ‘media propaganda against the regime.’ Parisa, 39, was arrested in May 2024 and sentenced to six years in prison by the criminal judge Tavakoli on charges of ‘membership in the PMOI,’ ‘acting against national security,’ and ‘destroying public property.’ In a message from prison, she stated: ‘The executioner regime of the mullahs tries to instill fear and terror for its survival through continuous executions and massacres, but it is deeply mistaken. We have transcended the boundaries of fear and are full of rage.’ Last year, she was exiled to Yazd Prison as an additional punishment.
At the same time, reports indicate severe pressure and torture targeting political prisoner Masoud Jamei in Ahvaz’s Sheiban Prison. Following his protests against prison conditions, henchmen transferred him to a solitary confinement cell lacking any cooling devices amidst the grueling heat of Ahvaz. He had previously been sent to solitary confinement in July for the same reason. Masoud was arrested in the summer of 2023 alongside Farshad Etemadifar and Alireza Mardasi. In July 2025, Branch One of the regime’s sham court in Ahvaz, presided over by the notorious judge Adibimehr, sentenced them to death twice and an additional year in prison on charges of ‘Moharebeh’ (enmity against God), ‘assembly and collusion against national security,’ ‘membership in the PMOI,’ and ‘propaganda against the regime.’
In another crime, henchmen in Lakan Prison in Rasht severely beat Hamzeh Darvish, a Sunni compatriot, for exposing prison conditions. The severity of his injuries was such that fellow prisoners had to carry his semi-conscious body on a stretcher to the prison dispensary.
In Ghezel Hesar Prison, in response to a successful hunger strike by 1,500 prisoners, powerful signal jammers have been installed in Unit 2. In addition to cutting off communications, this inhumane measure has caused dizziness, nausea, and severe physical pain for numerous prisoners, gravely endangering their health.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the UN Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, other relevant UN bodies, and all international human rights organizations to strongly condemn the mullahs’ regime’s atrocious treatment of political prisoners. It reiterates the urgent need for an international fact-finding mission to visit Iranian prisons and meet with political prisoners.
