Ted Cruz Urges US to Arm Iranian Protesters as Militias Threaten ‘Total War’ Against America

Fox-News

Sen. Ted Cruz called for the U.S. to arm Iranian protesters Tuesday as unrest continues inside the nation and Iran-backed militias issued threats against Washington.

“We should be arming the protesters in Iran. NOW,” Cruz wrote in a post on X.

“For the Iranian people to overthrow the Ayatollah — a tyrant who routinely chants ‘death to America’ — would make America much, much safer,” the Texas Republican added.

“They are killing people in such ways, they’ve descended upon people so brutally, they’re attacking us in such ways… We’ve lost so many lives that no one dares go out anymore. They shoot directly with bullets. They kill outright. And even after killing, they come and behead you, and do countless other violent things to you,” it continued.

Italy Urges EU to List Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps As ‘Terrorist Organisation’

euronews-logo

Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani urged the EU on Monday to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a “terrorist organisation” following Tehran’s deadly crackdown on country-wide mass protests over the past weeks. Tajani said he would propose the idea “in coordination with other partners” at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Thursday.

“The losses suffered by the civilian population during the protests demand a clear response,” he wrote in a post on X, calling for the EU to levy individual sanctions against those responsible.

US-based rights group Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said on Monday it had confirmed the deaths of nearly 6,000 people during the protests and was investigating another 17,000 possible fatalities.

US-DeptOfState-Seal

The United States of America, along with 40 countries, gathered last week in Prague, the Czech Republic for a symposium designed to further advance the implementation of the reimposed United Nations Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs) on the Iranian regime. Participants discussed the full range of issues affecting UN Member State implementation of the renewed obligations. The symposium served as an opportunity to secure commitments from several attending countries that intend to receive country- and sector-specific technical security assistance from the United States to maximize the impact of sanctions on the Iranian regime.

The symposium featured discussions on the threats posed by the Iranian regime’s nuclear, ballistic missile, and conventional arms activities. Participants discussed the importance of using all relevant national measures and capabilities to implement the provisions enumerated in the restored resolutions more robustly.

London TV Station ‘Is Propaganda Arm’ of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards

The-Telegraph

The IRGC, known as the Ayatollah’s “terror army”, has played a leading role in the violent suppression of pro-democracy protests in Iran. More than 3,000 people have been killed, according to Iranian state media, with demonstrators shot dead in the street.

Sir Keir Starmer has refused to proscribe the IRGC as a terrorist organisation, despite being urged to by senior Labour figures as well as Tory and Reform UK politicians, and the White House.

Iran: From Execution Shots to Night Burials in Mass Graves

As the nationwide uprising of 2026 was violently suppressed, a body of field testimonies, medical evidence, and local information from cities across Iran reveals the emergence of a coherent pattern of clandestine killings of protesters, elimination of the wounded, and secret burials in mass graves. This pattern was not limited to live fire in the streets. It extended to the transfer of wounded protesters to morgues, the deliberate denial of medical treatment, night burials without informing families, and the imposition of fabricated narratives; a phase that went beyond conventional street repression. Accounts from multiple cities, including Mashhad, Babol, and Amol, demonstrate that the killing of protesters and the concealment of bodies were not the result of isolated local decisions.

Severe Internet Restrictions Continue Across Iran

Majidreza Hariri, head of the Iran–China Chamber of Commerce, announced that the Iranian regime allows traders to use the internet for only 20 minutes per day, and only under the supervision of a monitor. Hariri warned on Sunday, January 25, that this level of access is “by no means sufficient for the needs of traders.” He said: “I do not have information about all chambers of commerce, but in Tehran and several provincial capitals, internet access has been enabled on a few systems inside the chambers of commerce. Traders must register in order to use the internet.”

The head of the Iran–China Chamber of Commerce described this method of internet access as “undesirable” and added: “This amount of use is only sufficient to check a few emails.”

The Iranian regime shut down the internet across Iran shortly after protests began on the evening of January 8.

Iran Regime Media Signal a System Trapped in Its Final Circle

Anti-regime protests in Karaj (January 10, 2026)

On January 26, 2026, Iranian state-affiliated media presented an unusually stark portrait of a political system caught in what one major daily described as a “closed circle.” A series of admissions—spanning organized urban warfare, mass casualties, economic disintegration, and internal power decay—collectively point to a regime that has moved beyond crisis management and into an endgame scenario. Across ideological lines, regime outlets acknowledged that the 2026 uprising has surpassed the protest phase and entered a confrontational and irreversible stage, one increasingly framed by officials themselves as existential. Security-linked media openly acknowledged armed confrontations in urban areas, admitting that the scale of street battles has overwhelmed standard crowd-control tactics.
