Nikki Haley Reveals Iranian “Murder-For-Hire” Plot Targeting Her

Murder-For-Hire Plot Against Nikki Haley

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley disclosed on Wednesday that she was the target of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by the clerical regime in Iran. Haley revealed the threat during her SiriusXM program, stating that the FBI had warned her about the plot in 2020.

“The FBI showed up at our home and said that we had been red-listed, basically meaning there was a hit on us from the Iranian regime,” Haley said. She further explained that Iranian authorities had approached a Pakistani citizen, Asif Merchant, offering him money to hire gang members to carry out the assassination.

Haley also described the fear and chaos caused by multiple swatting incidents during her presidential campaign, where heavily armed law enforcement officers were sent to her home. “My poor parents, 87 and 90, didn’t know what was going on,” she said.

Iran’s Collapsing Economy under The Rule of The Mullahs

iran poverty

Since seizing power in Iran in 1979, the mullahs’ regime has been ruling on chaos and disorder. This reached the point where, during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presidency (2005-2013), they even dissolved the National Planning Organization, and everyone recognized this blatant foolishness. Although this decision has eroded the pillars of a society living in the 21st century, with all its complexities and challenges, the mafia supporting the regime of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with the clerics and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have not wasted a single moment in looting and systematically plundering the nation’s wealth and underground resources. Millions living below the survival line, shocking imbalances in the oil and gas sectors, the destruction of agriculture, the crippling of industry, and making people’s livelihoods dependent on imports controlled by the privileged children of officials all highlight the destructive order in a crisis-ridden Iran.

Iran’s Economic Struggles and the Decline in Purchasing Power

iran-borqhan-savojbolagh-e1650181304500

In recent years, one of the most pressing economic challenges facing the Iranian people has been the sharp decline in purchasing power. This issue, driven by escalating inflation, rising prices of basic goods, and a widening gap between income growth and living costs, has placed immense pressure on the daily lives of countless households. Economic experts point to Iran’s chronic inflation, particularly in the last decade, as a key factor driving the surge in the prices of goods and services. According to the Iranian Statistics Center, annual inflation in recent years has ranged between 40% and 50%, significantly impacting the cost of essential items such as food and housing.

This persistent rise in prices has left many families struggling to meet even their basic needs. Beyond day-to-day concerns over food and necessities, the burden of soaring housing and energy costs further exacerbates the situation. The financial strain has led to psychological and social consequences, intensifying stress, family tensions, and widespread public dissatisfaction.

Iran’s Proxy Forces: A Regime Under Strain

The term “proxy forces” is all too familiar to the people of Iran. For many years, the Iranian regime has employed these forces to target its opponents, both inside and outside the country. Domestically, the Iranian people have endured the oppressive presence of the Basij, a paramilitary group that operates with impunity. Beyond Iran’s borders, the regime’s influence has spread through various militias, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, regime-backed forces in Iraq, Hamas in Palestine, and the Houthis in Yemen. These groups, loyal to Tehran, extend Iran’s reach across the Middle East, enforcing its ideological and political goals.

At home, the Iranian regime’s strategy of oppression is deeply institutionalized. The Basij and other security forces act with impunity, using violence and intimidation to suppress dissent. The regime has a long history of silencing opposition, from serial murders and acid attacks on women to the brutal repression of protest movements. It has even targeted foreign nationals inside Iran, using them as hostages in political bargaining. Such repressive tactics have become a tool for regime survival, codified in Iran’s legal framework under pretexts like “Enjoining good and forbidding wrong.”

Escalating Tragedy: A Surge in Women’s Executions in Iran

As we approach the World and Europe Day Against the Death Penalty, we urge the international community to take decisive action to halt executions in Iran and support the international campaign, “No to Executions” in Iran.

For years, Iran has held the world record for the execution of women and boasts the highest per capita execution rate globally.

The death penalty serves as a lifeline for the clerical regime, a mechanism for its survival. The regime’s killing machine operates at full speed, aiming to instill fear in an embittered society and prevent the next uprising, which is already in the making.

Iran’s Regime Uses the “Nazer” App to Monitor Ambulances and Identify Protesters

Chastity and Hijab Law

Filterbaan, an organization active in internet access rights in Iran, reports that the regime’s “Nazer” app, initially designed to monitor the enforcement of mandatory hijab, is also being used to track ambulances and identify protesters. In a report on October 8, Filterbaan pointed out that ambulances are among the vehicles listed for reporting violations, highlighting that enforcing mandatory hijab laws is a priority for the regime, “even during medical emergencies.”

Filterbaan noted that “Nazer” was initially designed to track hijab violations in vehicles, but now it also monitors behaviors like alcohol consumption, breaking fast during Ramadan, and public protests. The report added that the Nazer app is part of the government’s policies to suppress lifestyle choices that don’t align with its laws.

UN Special Rapporteur: Death Penalty in Iran Must End

Mai Sato, the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, called for the abolition of the death penalty in Iran in a video message ahead of October 10, “World Day Against the Death Penalty.”

In a video posted on X, Ms. Sato emphasized that this day holds particular significance for Iran due to the alarming increase in the use of the death penalty by the regime, with over 500 executions in the current year.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran has identified one of her major concerns as the targeted use of the death penalty by the Iranian government against women activists and supporters of the 2022 protest movement following the death of Mahsa (Jina) Amini in the custody of the morality police in September 2022.
