The Uprising in Iran Continued On Saturday

Today, September 24, marked the 9th day of the national uprising in Iran. So far, nationwide demonstrations and uprisings have been reported in more than 133 cities in 31 provinces.

Students at Tehran University protested outside the campus as they were prevented the place by security forces. Yet, the student defied the strict measures and gathered while calling for the death of the dictator.

Dreadful of the expansion of nationwide uprisings, local officials in Hamedan announced on Saturday that its universities will be closed for 2 weeks and all classes will be held virtually.

On the same day, the president of Lorestan University announced that the classes of this university at all academic levels will be postponed until the first week of October. In recent days, officials in Tehran and Tabriz had shut down their universities and claimed all in-person classes have been postponed due to the pandemic.

According to reports by local sources as well as human rights organizations, the clerical regime has launched a full-fledged crackdown campaign. The security forces are reportedly shooting at people and plainclothes agents continue to attack the protesters to single them out and transfer them to unknown locations via unregistered ambulances.
