French President Macron: Regime Change in Iran Must Come from Its People, Not Foreign Intervention

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that any potential political transformation in Iran must stem from the will of its own citizens rather than through external military action.

Speaking at a joint press conference with the Norwegian Prime Minister on Monday, June 23, 2025, Macron reaffirmed his commitment to national sovereignty and territorial integrity, arguing that history has repeatedly shown foreign-imposed regime changes to be destabilizing and ultimately counterproductive. He cautioned against the notion that outside powers can or should decide the leadership of another nation, asserting that true change in Iran must be driven internally by its own people.

Widespread International Condemnation of Iran’s Missile Strike on U.S. Base in Qatar

Smoke rises after an Israeli airstrike near the city of Khomein in Iran’s Markazi province, June 19, 2025

Iran’s recent missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar has drawn strong condemnation from a range of Arab and European governments, who have described the action as a violation of Qatari sovereignty and a serious threat to regional stability.

Egypt’s Foreign Ministry issued a firm statement warning that the strike could significantly escalate tensions across the Middle East. Jordan’s King Abdullah expressed solidarity with Qatar in a phone call with its emir, stressing Jordan’s rejection of any act that undermines Qatar’s territorial integrity or endangers its citizens.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also contacted Qatar’s emir, voicing unequivocal support for the country and denouncing the Iranian missile attack as unjustifiable. Iraq joined the chorus of concern, with its foreign ministry emphasizing the need to safeguard Qatari sovereignty and warning of the dangers of regional destabilization.

In Europe, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul criticized Iran’s actions as unacceptable and reiterated support for Gulf states. He stressed the importance of de-escalation and called for renewed dialogue between the United States and Iran, while underscoring the imperative of preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Palestinian officials also condemned the Iranian missile strike, adding to the growing list of regional voices opposing Tehran’s military posture.

The widespread international backlash underscores mounting concern over Iran’s aggressive behavior and its implications for peace and security in the Middle East.

ICE Arrests Former Iranian Sniper in Blount County During Nationwide Crackdown

LOCUST, Ala. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Ribvar Karimi, a former Iranian Army sniper, in Blount County on June 22. Karimi, who served as a sniper from 2018 to 2021, was found with an Islamic Republic of Iran Army identification card at the time of his arrest.

Karimi entered the United States on a K-1 visa in October 2024, a visa category intended for individuals engaged to be married to American citizens. However, officials say he failed to adjust his status, a legal requirement, making him removable from the country. He is currently in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

Iranian Americans React to Ongoing Conflict Between Iran and Israel

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – As Iran and Israel continue their war, a group of Iranian in the U.S. are watching closely and hoping their homeland can experience peace and freedom.

Members of the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OAIC) have been long been fighting for a free, democratic, secular and denuclearized Iran, and they’re asking for the U.S. government, and the rest of the world, to back the Iranian people as they fight for freedom.

“People of Iran have been struggling for democracy and human rights for more than four decades, and the world has to recognize the rights of the Iranian people to overthrow this regime. The world has to recognize the fact that we have a viable alternative to this regime,” said Ramesh Sepehrrad, the OAIC’s advisory chair.

U.S. Tells UN Security Council Iran Still Violating Nuclear and Arms Obligations

At a United Nations Security Council briefing on nonproliferation and Iran held on June 24, Acting U.S. Representative Ambassador Dorothy Shea accused Tehran of continued violations of its international obligations under Resolution 2231. Speaking in New York, Shea stated that the Iranian regime has sustained illegal arms transfers to the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and previously sent hundreds of drones to Russia in 2022 for use in Ukraine — all in defiance of UN mandates.

She highlighted that Iran’s nuclear activities remain without any credible civilian justification, citing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) latest report. According to Shea, the IAEA Board of Governors formally declared the regime’s noncompliant on June 12 due to persistent failures to uphold nuclear safeguards.

Ambassador Shea defended the recent U.S. precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, describing them as necessary to degrade Iran’s weapons capability and carried out under the principle of collective self-defense. She said the operation directly preceded President Trump’s coordination of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Calling on Tehran to “seize this opportunity for peace,” Shea warned against further noncompliance, and criticized some Council members for, in her words, “turning a blind eye” to Iranian violations.

US President Tries to Broker Ceasefire Between Iran and Israel on Day 12 Of Conflict

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire late Monday night, claiming that both nations had sought peace. “Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “The World, and the Middle East, are the real WINNERS! Both Nations will see tremendous LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY in their futures.” He later posted, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” (CNN).

The War of a Regime

Surprised by those who are surprised by the United States’ attacks on nuclear bases in Iran. While for Israel the conflict with Iran is existential—given the Iranian regime’s declared intent to wipe it off the map—for Tehran’s theocratic regime, war is essential: a means of survival, not against external enemies, but against its own people. While Iranians live in the 21st century, the men of the clerical regime appear stuck in the darkest kind of obscurantism. After the brief honeymoon following the 1979 revolution, the majority of Iranians rejected the mullahs at the cost of blood. But the West preferred to ignore the voices of dissidents, indulging instead in the myth of a “reformable regime.”

This war unfolding today—clear to those who refused to listen to the regime’s propaganda—was sadly inevitable; it was only a matter of time. There is no doubt that Israel, the United States, and any other country wage war in pursuit of their own interests. But the narrative that Iran would become another Syria or Iraq if the regime were to fall overlooks the fact that the real source of instability in the Middle East has always been—and still is—the mullahs’ regime. The theocratic regime and its officials pursue goals that do not reflect the will of the vast majority of the population, and above all, they use war to justify and intensify domestic repression, as also occurred during the Iran-Iraq war. On one side is a people rich in culture and a deep thirst for freedom; on the other, an obscurantist regime that stands as the antithesis of Persian civilization.
