G7 Foreign Ministers’ Statement Condemning Iran’s Export And Russia’s Procurement of Iranian Ballistic Missiles

We, the G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America and the High Representative of the EU, condemn in the strongest possible terms Iran’s export and Russia’s procurement of Iranian ballistic missiles.
Evidence that Iran has continued to transfer weaponry to Russia despite repeated international calls to stop represents a further escalation of Iran’s military support to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Russia has used Iranian weaponry such as UAVs to kill Ukrainian civilians and strike their critical infrastructure. Russia’s aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of international law including the UN Charter.

Pezeshkian Praises The Most Repressive Forces Of Iran’s Regime
On September 9, Iranian regime President Masoud Pezeshkian met with the Ministry of Intelligence, according to Mehr News agency. Pezeshkian president praised the regime’s spies and torturers, saying: “You are the true soldiers of this revolution, soldiers who, without claiming fame or fortune, are working anonymously, striving and working hard, and the more one is pure, the closer they are to God.
“If we do something that satisfies the people, do we stabilize the State, the Islamic Republic, and the revolution, or do we betray the revolution and the State? If we make the people satisfied, this system will endure. The state will be preserved.”
How Iran’s Regime Is Profiteering from Internet Censorship and VPNs
“Merchants of sanctions,” “Merchants of internet censorship,” “IRGC mafia,” and “Smuggler brothers” are the components of the financial oligarchy of the clerical regime ruling Iran.
On September 8, under the title “The Pressure of Internet Censorship Merchants on Freedom of Speech”, the state-run Setareh Sobh newspaper wrote: “There are companies with large contracts for internet censorship, and the involvement of some influential people is also evident in these companies. There are also companies selling VPNs. In fact, there is an economic cycle of tens of trillions of rials in blocking online services and selling VPNs. Just as there are ‘merchants of sanctions,’ unfortunately, ‘merchants of internet censorship’ are also in action.”
Ukraine Reports 8,060 Iranian-Made Drones Launched by Russia in Two-Year Span
On Friday, September 13, 2024, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs marked a grim milestone: the second anniversary of the first Iranian-made Shahed drone shot down on Ukrainian soil.
In a statement released on social media platform X, the ministry revealed that Russia has launched a staggering 8,060 drones supplied by Iran’s regime against Ukraine since the conflict began. The ministry’s announcement coincides with the date two years ago when Ukrainian forces first downed an Iranian-made drone in Kupyansk, Kharkiv province.
This event signaled the beginning of a new phase in the conflict, with Russia increasingly relying on Iranian drone technology to conduct attacks on Ukrainian territory.
The Struggles of Workers in Iran: Delayed Wages and Slow Dispute Resolution
In Iran, many workers find themselves in precarious situations when they are unfairly dismissed or face wage non-payment. Complaints filed by workers with labor dispute resolution authorities often take months to address, leaving workers and their families in financial limbo for extended periods. For some, this process can take six months or more, creating significant hardship.
The Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA) recently reported on the plight of workers who are not paid for months and then dismissed—often under the guise of “retrenchment,” a term commonly used by employers to justify layoffs. These workers are left with no option but to turn to the labor dispute resolution authorities for help. However, the process is excruciatingly slow.
Amnesty International: Two Years After ‘Woman Life Freedom’ Uprising, Impunity For Crimes Reigns Supreme
On the second anniversary of the 2022 Iran uprising sparked by the death in custody of Mahsa Jina Amini, Amnesty International published a comprehensive report on September 11, 2024, the full text of which appears below: “People in Iran continue to endure the devastating consequences of the authorities’ brutal crackdown on the “Woman Life Freedom” uprising amid systematic impunity for crimes under international law, Amnesty International said today, ahead of the two-year anniversary of the protests that saw people across Iran challenge decades of oppression and gender-based discrimination.
“No effective, impartial, and independent criminal investigations have taken place into the serious human rights violations and crimes under international law by Iranian authorities during and in the aftermath of the nationwide protests of September-December 2022, including security forces’ extensive and unlawful use of force and firearms.”
High Prices in Iran Prevent 110,000 Kids from Attending First Grade
Donya-e-Eqtesad newspaper reported on the issue of education in the new school year and the impact of inflation, stating that 110,000 first-graders were prevented from entering the education system due to the rising costs of school supplies and tuition.
In its September 14 issue, the newspaper wrote that comparing the prices of elementary school textbooks shows a roughly 50% increase compared to last year.
According to the newspaper, the price of stationery has increased by at least 20% compared to last year, and a middle-class working family must spend at least 30 million rials (approximately $50) to meet the minimum needs of students, excluding the cost of a backpack, shoes, and uniform. The minimum wage in Iran is approximately $180 per month.
Many Workers in Iran Have to Wait Six Months to Receive Their Wages
Many workers in Iran file complaints against their employers after being laid off to claim their dues. The process of addressing these complaints in the labor dispute resolution offices takes months, leaving some workers and their families without money for at least six months, causing them significant hardship. The state-run ILNA news agency, in a report, stated: “Imagine a worker who hasn’t received their wages for three months, and after an entire season of being without money, has been laid off or, in the language of today’s capitalists, ‘downsized.’ This worker has no choice but to turn to the labor dispute resolution offices to claim their rights.”
The report highlights the lengthy process of addressing workers’ complaints at labor dispute offices: “When a worker enters the system and files a complaint, they don’t wait just days or weeks, but months for their case to be addressed.”
