Former Iceland Prime Minister Geir Hilmar Haarde called on the West to end its policy of appeasement towards the Iranian regime and help the people of Iran make the regime change from within.

Haarde said that the West’s current policy of appeasement has emboldened the Iranian regime to increase its human rights violations, the use of hostage-taking, and support for global terrorism.

“The West must abandon its policy of appeasement towards the Iranian regime and adopt a policy that supports the Iranian people and their legitimate aspirations for democracy and freedom,” Haarde said. “This policy involves openly supporting the NCRI and its leader as well as Madam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan.”

Haarde said that the West has a moral obligation to support the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom. He said that the Iranian regime is a threat to peace and security in the region and the world and that it must be brought down.

“The West must not stand on the wrong side of history,” Haarde said. “It must stand with the Iranian people and help them to achieve their dream of freedom and democracy.”
